^ somebody can probably explain it better than me... but it looks like a texture. u can create ur own swirl texture by using a gradient with different colors and then the swirl filter... change the # to how strong the swirl u want it to be... then ur done. after u finish with ur graphic, u can just put ur new texture as another layer and play with the opacity of it... thats how i do it.. hope it helped a little.

There was a post on about what filter to use a couple of pages back. Go to Filter > Distort > Twirl. I've never thought of using radial blur, but I think to create the effect in the example posted, it'd be best to use twirl

^ if you want a better quality filter, just go to disort>wave and mess with it a bit. Then take the result from the 'wave' filter, and twirl it to a high value. It's some what soft, and not as riged. Well this is my result:


Just mess around with the waves & twirls, and play around with layers and such. For example, you can just put the filter layer on lighten mode, and it will go over the first layer quite nicely. Just find a way to develop a style that you like :] I hope I helped some bit. I would make a pictured tutorial, but i'm no good at those.

Animashi lol, I don't think it's a effect. If you mean the light lines, those are textures, but miko's works all seem to be beautiful & dreamy, so I really don't know what you mean x_x haha. but it's her style, you should pm her. But she might no respond since it's her style, and her's alone =]

um..for the filter thingy..i don't have a distort in it. T___T. i only have photoshop 6.0. can someone teach me how to distort or do this swirly thingys on photoshop 6.0? thanks.

The first graphic looks dreamy since it has a layer of a bluish gradient, and it's put on screen/lighten over the main picture =] and the swirls are filters, it's already been mentioned in the past pages recently...

I've been wondering and messing around with the filters for ages....but one stupid question is always bothering me. How do you make the single-strand like effect on the strokes before twirling/waving? (I hope anyone could answer my question)
