I'll be the first to say that it's not a perfect sample (e.g., the extraneous drop-shadows). For the purpose of the tutorial, however, it should suffice.

[color="#c0c0c0"]hi guyz!
right now, though im having trouble with text. well, not exactly trouble, i just want to make them a bit nicer.
i was wondering how to make the text like what shy-Love did here?
(credits to shy-Love, naturally)
like, the text fade-ish into the background. another example;

Use white as your foreground*text color*, and then set it's blend mode to overlay.

uh.. thanks again guyz laugh.gif Does newan noe where 2 download adobe imageready for free other than download.com so that i can start creating GIFs? *Sori, I ask too much* unsure.gif

You can't have it for free. It's illegal.

[font="arial"]hmm. anyone know any tricks to clearing watermarks?
especially when the background is not a solid colour ._.
which makes it harder to clear it off.

thanks!

sher^^

Depends.

If it's a pattern or gradient, you can use the clone tool and use another part of the background as a source. If it's a background like a landscape, your best bet is covering it up or erasing it. Or crop the part of the image with the watermark.

Criticism does not equal bashing.

Thanks stardaisy212 for answerimg. Uhm, ok so I'm reading the blending images tutorial in this thread and I fully understand the steps but eh, I can't proceed to the second step because i can't even follow step number 1. Just wondering, how will I be able to open 2 images at the same time? You know, to blend the 2 pictures.

I have to click File-Open and only one image will appear(of course) and everytime I open a new image, then there will be two images in my screen. Just like this one:

And look at that layer box:

It is supposed to be like this right?

How do I do that?

Hey guys. I'm making rounded borders but I can't seem to find the Fill command. What button do I have to choose to fill up a particular area?

i think you can motion blur it (under filter>blur>motion blur)
play around with the angle settings.

You will only use this image as a reference. You will not be editing this image at all. Don't bother, because it won't cross over to imageready. Make sure this image is the bottom layer at all times. It is very important or else all your hard work on designing will not be visible.

When I fill it with a background color on a new layer, it just goes over the image as well. What should I do about it?

I'm using CS3, btw.

nevermind...

Your computer specifications would help.
What CPU (Athlon/Intel) and speed (ghz)?
How much RAM (system memory)?
How much RAM designated for Photoshop (Photoshop prefences)?
How much Hard Drive space left?
Which version of Windows/Mac?
How long does it take to create a new 300x300 pixel @ 72 pixel/inch Resolution?

The shortcut key sequence for filling is as follows:
Fill with currently selected foreground color 'Alt+Backspace'.
Fill with currently selected background color 'Ctrl+Backspace'.
On Mac - Alt=Option, Ctrl=Cmd(Apple).

Make sure the layer you want the fill to run on is active.
