hello, would anyone perhaps know how to make this style of blinkies?

i can make simple letter-to-letter blinkies, but this one, how it fills in individual letters, does anyone know how?

If you can make letter-to-letter, then doing this should be absolutely no problem.
For each frame, just fill in all the letters you want filled as you go one by one.
Er, does that make sense?

does anyone no why is that when i import a video to Photoshop C3 it is white? like this

is there a limited amount the video has to be cuz i notice that if a video is like 10 mis or w.e long its is blank/white

Errr, why would you ever want to import a 10 min file into photoshop/imageready.
Don't do it. Just cut the file before you import it. I wouldn't recommend anything over errr...30-50 SECONDS.

can you help me with round borders for paintshop pro 7 ..
i try it but i couldn't do it for paintshop pro because the difference of the paintshop

I'm currently on Paintshop 9. Er, I don't plan to upgrade. (I saw the new one and I'm not fond of it)
So I hope the new version Paintshop has this feature.
It's actually similiar to photoshop, but much better (in my opinion ).
On your tools on the left hand side, select the "Selection tool."
Select whichever area you'd like. You can go to Selection > Select All to select all of it if you're already done w/ your banner or graphic. Then go to Selection > Modify > Smooth. Unselect "Preserve Corners." It's your choice if you want it to be Anti-Alias (Smooth) or not. If you're planning to save it as GIF, then I would probably recommend unchecking Anti-Alias. Then just play w/ the number you have there and look at the preview to make sure it's what you want. When you're done, click okay!

1. The borders are perfectly round, how can I have a border with a clean cut?
2. The light effect on taehee's back, what effect is that?
3. The shadow effect on Taehee's name, I can't seem to find the right effect for that.
4. The white curve on the two opposing sides of the siggy, how will I be able to do that?
5. The color pink inside the white curve?

Ah ok, so I'm asking too much but look my work. Don't laugh because this is my very first work. Haha!
I followed Muddie Murda's tutorial regarding the rounded borders but eh, I know there's something wrong with it because the area outside the round borders should be transparent right? But mine is not.

^What seems to be the problem?

tru__minute basically covered it all. for #3 though, it's like what tru said, but after you've flipped it, convert it to rasterize, and then take the erase tool (Select the brush that's circle and fading) and just erase the bottom a bit so it'd fade out.

thanks again everyone, but this time i have more of a tech problem than a question of how to.

problem: i have photoshop elements. now, when i try to save a JPG, the whole program closes.
saving a pdf is no problem.
if i drag a picture from say, a webpage onto the photoshop, and then save it as JPG, everything is fine.
but if i have layers and such with it, the jpg doesnt save and the whole photoshop just closes, all by itself.
even if i just click on "JPG" on the dropdown, everything is gone.

its alright when i save in PNG.

why...?

Hmm... I'm encountering some problems here. I just got my CS3 Extended and I'm very much eager to learn how to use that ImageReady thingy.
Everytime I open an MPEG file, it only shows:

about that marimar text..its a font that you need to search...you need to look the font similar to it..go to artwork>>>avatar & banner request>>>FONTS, BRUSHES, & TEXTURES, etc . there are lots of sites their that you can visit to download fonts and to install your fonts just go to your control pannel and click fonts. just copy the file..

There's a program called "Apophysis" that creates fractals that are amazing . I don't believe the fractal brushes people dl are created from photoshop filters, but from other programs; however I could be wrong

Well, Kathy already explained it. But if you don't understand that, I will tell you two things. First, make a custom gradient; there are plenty of tutorials about custom gradients in the index. Second, make that custom gradient into a pattern; a simple tutorial about making and applying a pattern is to look at Jason's "Diagonal Scanline" tutorial. In this case, you'll be applying a pattern to your Text layer. So, to sum that up: custom gradient + pattern.

Hopefully people don't get confused about this. That "effect" your looking for, xAsianx, is not technically called "filtering." The two filtering tutorials that MAY help you, though, are the tutorials for Swirls and Quick Swirls. There are more tutorials in this thread that deal with what you're looking for, and those would be Abstract Swirls found in the "Render" category of the index. Check the first page.

^ to me it looks like
layers of pictures set on overlay or soft light; maybe even screen
the tops of some are faded, i think you can just use the eraser tool
and they probably changed the opacity of some layers..
o_o.....but i could be wrong...
