nope im just retarted. I am bad with descriptions (always get marked down for that in my essays)
see I just made this graphic. one of my first
like give me suggestions on how to make the text fit the image better and how to make it like more like the image and stuff.
Typography (the art of using text) is often left as an 'afterthought' by people who are so concentrated on creating an 'image' that they forget to think about what the text brings to the entire project.
I'm glad you're realizing that it's an important part of any image.
With so many fonts and styles to choose from, it can get a bit intimidating to try to choose the correct font type, size, and style for your image. Because in the end, it's going to be about preference.
There's no rule saying that certain fonts go with certain types of graphics.
There are, however, certain basic principles you should consider when choosing your typography.
I'll list a few examples.
01. If you take a look at your graphic, your eyes are drawn to the right top corner because the image is so strong there.
One method of using fonts is to 'counter-balance' the weight in the top right corner by placing an element in the lower left corner.
Fonts used: Trajan Pro for 'MERRY' and Impact for 'CHRISTMAS'.
No effects.

02.Another method is to strengthen that corner even more by using the text.
By lining it up with one of your square shapes, it gives it a nicely balanced look. As opposed to it looking like you just stuck it there randomly.
Fonts used: Century Gothic for 'MERRY' and Century Gothic Bold for 'CHRISTMAS'.
Medium opacity drop shadow added to 'separate' the text from the image.
02.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
03.The final example I have illustrates making the text 'one' with the graphic.
It's there. And it's obvious. But the blending mode keeps the text unobtrusive.
Fonts used: Same as previous.
Layer mode set to 'Soft Light'.
Same drop shadow kept as previous.

I could honestly sit here all day, and post examples, but in the end, it's mostly about what
you like, and what
you think looks good.
My guess is that most of the Soompi users will choose the third one as their favorite, as Soompi seems to be 'blend crazy.' I, myself, prefer the first one.
Hope that helps.
