If you're using Photoshop CS2 or CS3, you'll have a filter called 'Lens Correction' in 'Filters>Distort>'.
There's a specific 'Vignette' section in there. Pretty self explanatory.
I would create a new layer, fill it white, set the blending mode to 'multiply', then use the Lens Correction filter on that white layer.
Setting it to 'multiply' will hide all the white areas, and show only the dark 'corners'.
Adjust opacity and such to fine tune.

If you're not on CS2 or CS3, there are plenty of other ways to create vignettes.
Come back if you're in need.

What color and what texture?

Ahh, I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0
So I don't have a Lens Correction under filters. =(
Is there anyway to get this? Or any other way to do this??

Ahh, as for the second picture, here's the original picture.

The coloring is different for the other picture. I want to know how to achieve that look to a picture?

Thanks!!

1) I assume its is something like this Click where they used a gradient and played around with it
2) Most probably got one flat color, layed it on top of the image and played with the adjustments. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective color
3) How i usually get this kind of effect. I make a new layer on top of the image > Fill with dark dark blue > Set the blue to exclusion > Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective color. And play around with the setting there till you get what you want. You might have to do it twice or three times to get the right effect. Example:

Make a new layer all the way at the top of the layer palette. Fill it with white and set it to Multiply. Right-click on layer, go to blending options, select "Stroke" and choose however many pixels thick you want your border to be (make sure it's inside and not outside stroke). Check to see that the border layer is visible in all of your frames.

I did it but it only applied to the layer I made.. the other layers turned into white! How to check if the border layer is visible?
No more signature, I'm tired.

Thanks a lot!

Could you be a little more specific on what settings you used, because I tried exactly what you said and I couldnt get that same kind of coloring no matter how much I played with the settings.

with all coloring tutorials, it depends a lot on what image you start with. the original image will have different tones/colors so that when you do apply coloring settings to it, you'll get different results with each picture.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but... I wanted to start making my own myspace layouts. Something like these:
http://www.myspace.com/neyo

or
http://i37.tinypic.com/x1zk84.png

My problem isn't so much graphics wise but i searched up for layout tutorials. However, most of them are just tips on layouts and don't provide me any steps to begin or what dimensions of the different parts.

So does anyone know how i can figure out the dimensions or know of any tutorials for those layouts?

If you've 'searched for layout tutorials', doesn't it make sense that 'most of them are just tips on layouts...'?

To duplicate the first example, you'll need to use CSS, HTML, Flash (and obviously some type of image editor like Photoshop).
The second one... well, why would anyone want to duplicate that...

Try this page for a start. Looks like a good resource

P.S.
I'm not sure about MySpace layouts, but later, I plan to go to a celebrity thread to ask about auto repair.

Happy birthday to you, as well.

You can create the text in either Photoshop or Imageready (doesn't matter).

Make sure the text is on a layer that isn't 'hidden' by another layer on top.
Make sure the document has at least a 72dpi resolution (Image>Image Size - Resolution).
Make sure you don't have any specific font preferences changed in the character palette (Window>Character).
Make sure you have your eyes open.

I'm curious...
Why didn't you try it with other fonts?

Is there a tutorial on how to make a part of a graphic move/animate?
For example: stars "glowing" or ring "sparkling"

Also! How do you "tag" a gif?
I have PS7- could I do it on there?

Thank you!

I haven't looked at how they make these (probably some seamless background technique), but these are some sick sick GIFs.

If you get dizzy or get motion sickness easily, I would recommend caution.
Click here, and click the 'next' at the top left corner to see more.

Each 'weave' is a simple rectangle, filled with white, layer mode set to 'multiply', then a couple of Layer effects.
A drop shadow (pretty large in your example), and a black outer stroke (you decide on the size - in your example, looks to be about 2 or 3px).

Duplicate, resize, rotate, repeat.
The order in the Layers palette will determine how the weave ends up looking.
