A quicky:

Sample any color from anything displayed on your screen (even from things not a part of Photoshop).

Click the Eye Dropper tool.
Click anywhere in an open image in Photoshop.
Without letting go of the mouse button, drag the cursor over any part of your screen.
Let go when your cursor is over the color you want to sample.
You'll notice the foreground color of Photoshop has become that color.

Go to your brush tool in photoshop, then open up the screen as shown. Click on the little arrow in the right hand top corner of the box that will pop up and then the selections should appear. You can either load brushes or replace brushes, and ANOTHER window will pop up then you go to the place you saved your brush (abr file) to and then open it up. Your brushes should now be loaded and ready to use smile.gif

saree writes:

Hi! I saw your awesome Photoshop tutorial and I was wondering... Is Photoshop the same thing as Paint Shop Pro? I'm kind of confused . If it is Paint Shop Pro, does the tutorials apply to a certain version? I have Paint Shop Pro 9, the most recent version if I'm correct. Thank you!

No, saree. I'm afraid that Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro are two completely different programs made by two different companies.
They do share many capabilities, but when it comes to graphics standards, every one else is still trying to catch up to Photoshop.

But many on Soompi will testify that they're just as happy using the less expensive Paint Shop Pro.
For me, though, working with Paint Shop Pro would feel like driving a Hyundae after being used to flying around town in a Ferrari.

Some of the tutorial methods apply to Paint Shop Pro, but for legal reasons, Paint Shop Pro cannot be exactly the same as Photoshop. So obviously, some specific steps will be different.

Hope that answers parts or all of your question.

In the export options window (File>Save for Web), under the GIF options, make sure 'Transparency' is checked.
You'll see a drop down menu just below that setting which defaults to 'No Transparency Dither'.
Don't get confused by that. It's not what you think it is.
Just leave it at default.

Alternatively, just save it as a JPG with the same background color as the webpage you're going to post it on.
Soompi, for example, would be full white.
The white background in your image will 'blend' with the white background of this webpage.

THANKS! But I realized what I was doing wrong (although I was already doing what you did). The image was in a table and the background of the table was WHITE! Freakin aye!!! Thanks...but it doesn't look very nice and smooth though.

And I can't make it the same background as the webpage because it's for a newsletter that people are posting on their xangs and everyone has a different background color for their xanga!

Thanks once again!
