here's a synopsis from yahoo:

Eisenheim (Edward Norton) is a stage magician who amazes the audiences of turn-of-the-century Vienna, drawing the attention of Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell). When the Prince's intended, Sophie von Teschen (Jessica Biel), assists the magician onstage, Eisenheim and Sophie recognize each other from their childhoods -- and a dormant love affair is rekindled. As the clandestine romance continues, Chief Inspector Uhl (Paul Giamatti) is charged by Leopold to expose Eisenheim, and Eisenheim prepares to execute his greatest illusion yet.

bascially, the movie starts with a little boy from a low class. he falls in love with a girl from a higher class, and they meet each other discreetly. when they are teenagers, they are separated by the girl's family. they never meet each other again until she comes to his magic performance with her husband-to-be, the prince of italy (maybe not italy, but whatever haha). they recognize each other as old lovers and their love rekindles again.

and from there i cant tell you more because i dont want to spoil the movie smile.gif

I WAS TOTALLY SMITTEN BY EDWARD NORTON. i've always thought he was a great actor. at first i thought it was an odd role for him but after watching it, i was totally convinced. what a fantastic performance, as always. he may not fit all the criterion of a hot actor, but now i have this girly crush on him lol. maybe it was his costume. ::swoon:: guys should dress more like that. ok, but that's not why the movie's good lol. everyone performed very professionally. and i just love the feel of the movie. it's great! i must admit, i sorta predicted the ending. but people should watch it anyways.

uhh, I saw this movie past weekend and like some of you. I didn't expected it but I really ending up liking it a lot. I like Edward Norton from his previous works and of course, this one have put me to liking him much more. He was awesome as Eisenheim. I really like him and he looked truly like a magician. The way he speaks and stands wub.gif

anyway, I actually like Jessica Biel from him. I don't think I was impressed by much of her works but she didn't well in this movie so overall, I actually like everything from the movie. It was awesome. Though, I wish there were more lovestory involve but hey, it was nice afterall knowingly that they had loved each other all along smile.gif

they looked good together!

I loved this movie! The main actor did an amazing job.
The ending strangely reminded me of the Korean movie Monopoly.

i derno why but i didn't like the ending.. i felt sorry for the prince guy even tho he's mean and everything i derno..
Alice asked the Cheshire Cat `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

I didn't expect much from this movie but it ended up being mildly entertaining.

However, a part of me really really REALLY wanted the movie to show how Eisenheim did that whole "spirit" thing.

And YoungSophie and YoungEisenheim did not look ANYTHING like OldSophie/Old Eisenheim. *heheh..*
surpr!se. ^^v

At first, I thought it was Italy too. I actually wikipedia'ed it. It's in Austria.

But I was IN LOVE with the movie! I was wayyyyyyy too stupid to figure out what was going on though.

I am not too fond of this movie. The only reason I watched because I like Edward Norton & Paul Giamatti.

What I hate the most, after all that..., Eisenheim did not explain to the Chief Police how he manage to get all the so-called-ghost to appear in front of the audience:(
