I was wondering if anyone here cosplays.
Cosplaying is basically picking an anime/movie character, sewing/making their outfit/props and stuff, and then going to an anime convention to show it off :P.

I personally cosplay, my friends and I go to conventions about 2 or 3 times a year. :D

i've done it a few times.

i like (having my mom)make the costumes & wear them.
but i don;t like ppl that think that cuz they put on the costume they should act like the character.
and i do get annoyed when ppl just throw something random together and it looks like crap (no effort).

when i was in high school (wasn't that long ago) i hated seeing people dress up as anime characters cause they would just act so stupid, to the point that i was embarrassed for them, trying to act like the characters and trying to show off but ultimately looking like a wanna-be idiot. i also hate it when everyone picks the same characters over and over to cosplay..like the ff characters! my god and most of the people don't even look good as those characters!

i don't hate cosplayers but the ones around where i live are just too stupid..white people trying to act japanese and using these japanese phrases (i'm like stop..you're white. (not trying to be racist or anything), and then there are the dreaded overweight/fat/disporportionate people who try to wear outfits like rikku from ffx-2, yunna's gunner costume or something skimpy! that's just wrong and gross. i'm not saying that they can't cosplay as whatever they want, just to look in the mirror first and see if they actually look good in it or not cause i've seen way too many people try to wear something skimpy that just looks horrible.

so far i would imagine it sounds like i'm against cosplayers/cosplaying but i'm not. i've seen some really really good ones like the ones in the other celebs thread and people who wear oufits that are proportional to them (not fat people in skimpy clothes or really skinny people trying to do the same..ewww ribs...). i cosplay myself occassionally but i pick the outfits that i will actually look good in and won't offend anybody.

well for some reason, Man-Faye tends to grow on you... hes actually a very cool guy... after reading an interview of him, i have much respect for him... now to just get a picture with him at AX 2006...
