As the subject title ask, do you ever feel as though the content being taught to you are not at the level you are capable of learning?

In my first two years, I was satisfied with my education. Granted, it was not exactly as challenging as I wanted, but I felt as though I did learn a good amount of things. After my first two years, I told all of my friends and family that I like my school.

A month into the new semester, I have had a complete change of heart. The third year is where most college students are fighting to keep up with their studies, yet this is the third week in a row where I haven't read a lick of any of my textbooks for my classes. The classes are so pathetic that I feel as though I could have kept up with these classes if I were in high school. At this point, I'm about ready to bail from my school and try to transfer to another school (which may be tough because credits from my school doesn't transfer as easily. To quote one school, my credits won't transfer because "the course isn't challenging enough").

Now I think there have been good things about my school, but good things and great things are two different expectations, and I was expecting great things. I'm willing to spend an extra two years and several extra grand to obtain a better education than the one that I'm receiving.

Wahhh..what school did you go to?

For me it is different, as years passed the courses are getting harder and harder. I almost killed myself last semester trying to write papers after papers. I had to print so much that I paid so much for the ink and hte papers that whole semester!!!

And now I'm only taking 4 classes, I felt like I should put more effort because I only had 4 classes which equals about 13 units, plus one extra one which is swimming (I don't even count it as a class since it's only 1 unit). But one of the classes I had to do this 40 hours observation crazy.gif and I was offered a second job, but quit the job to do the observation instead.

I kind of understand what you mean.

For me, I realized that my school doesn't have that many interesting courses to take.
On top of that, all of the ones that I want get filled so up quickly...
What more can you expect from a student population of over 25000?

So, I feel like this limits my education in a way.
I'm thinking about transferring also tongue.gif

I just transferred to Umass Boston this semester because I felt like a high school student at my previous college. I was learning high school concepts all over again and sometimes I'd wondered why I was still doing the homework and reading the books. So I guess I can sort of understand what you're thinking.

If you have higher expectations, then maybe you should transfer. Otherwise you'll just graduate from college, feeling as if you haven't learned anything.

I know what you mean.

The feeling is one of the worst in the world, when you know that you are fully capable of something more challenging than some preschool worthy subjects.

I would totally transfer out, I mean education is about receiving more than you're paying, and right now it seems as if it's the opposite for you. I'm a freshman, and let me tell you, the work isn't that hard if you study enough, but I know third and fourth year are going to absolutely brutal. I'm not exactly looking forward to it, but hey, I'm getting my money's worth. You should too.
Do you remember the first time when you felt alive?

^ yea i totally agree. college is expensive so i better get my money's worth you know? if i'm paying 30k just for tuition i better feel as if i'm not just wasting my time. seriously if you feel like you're not getting your money's worth then transfer out. it's ok if you have to be in school a little longer. hey i'm going to be an undergrad for 5 years because of co op but i feel that it doesn't matter that other people i know will be out in 4 years. i feel that co op is the best thing ever. ok end of northeastern advertisement haha.
