Like the topic title states:
How much scholarship money did u get when you were graduating Grade 12, going into university/college?
If u want, list the name of the scholarship and the amount.
Bursary counts too, but plz list separately. smile.gif

I am currently in Grade 12 in edmonton, alberta (canada), i havent applied to any scholarship yet. blush.gif
But one genius that i heard from other people is that he got over 60,000 in scholarships... excl.gif crazy.gif but seems like most people are getting around 5000-10,000? (plz dont quote me on that vicx.gif , i really dont know)

I didn't get a lot last year because I stayed at home and went to a nearby college.

I have this one friend, he got a total of $248,000 for his 4 years in college. I was stocked when I heard it during class night.
In Oregon, there's this scholarship call the Ford scholarship. Whoever gets it will get around $60,000 for their four years of college + tuition for graduate school. I apply every year but sadly, I haven't heard anything.

I only got Bright Futures, only in FL, scholarship. It's 75% which means it pays only for tuition for 3 years and you have to go to a college in FL.

I'll be trying to get more scholarships every year, but that scholarship is all I got when I began college.

I am a fifth year senior in college and so far, I got over $60,000 in scholarships and grants (some places just name their 'scholarship' as 'grants') so far, including this year. I will be graduating with around $6,600 of loans to pay, which is very nice considering I was in school for 5 years.

I didn't get any scholarship my first year but as I was attending college as fresh, I just applied to general scholarships through my school.

And no, my parents didn't pay anything for me, not a penny.

Congrats to you guys.
I got $2000 where tuition is > $2100
-This was my parents first choice

At my first choice I got a $10,000 scholarship from a school where tution is >21,000
But I unfortunately didn't get the chance to use it.
I should of been more assertive.

Most universities have an employee scholarship deal. If you work at a university, your child gets to go there for free. My cousin went to Brown this way, but still had to pay for books, room & board, etc. You still have to be accepted the "normal" way -there's no special consideration because your parent is part of the faculty. I think some schools have a minimum gpa too. Oh, and your parent doesn't have to be a professor to qualify.

Yeah, I know a person whose parents do research for a private university and he gets his tuition waived. lucky

I only get $4,000 a year. But it's not really doing much seeing our tuition is growing at a pretty steady rate. I kinda wish I did better on my SATs. :[
