HB's article yesterday had her parents pics because it was Mother's Day this weekend and she wants to think of it as a present for her parents cause they'll be on the newspaper. This made her really happy and excited.
HB mentions that as a kid she would make carnations out of various coloured paper. Then went she went to highschool, she made plastic carnations for her mother. In later years in highschool, she bought a plant for her dad and bought socks for her mom. There was one time, which she forced her brother to buy presents for her parents on Mother's Day. When she started earning money, because of being busy, which she thought was an excuse. She just wrote a letter and gave money to her parents. But later, she realized that you have to get what your parents need and it should be something from the bottom of the heart. She began to realize how old her mom's clothes were and she said they can be put in the museum. So once, she bought a new wallet for her dad and transferred all his stuff from the worn out wallet. But a few days later, her dad swtiched back to the old wallet. Seeing this, it made her a bit upset. Her parents were worried also that she'll be upset too. So she was like determined that if you do continue to do this, I'll get you more so that it'll make them use the new one. She thought that her parents were trying to stop her from spending money on them. She's like before, as a kid, she thought it was her duty to get her parents something. But now, as an adult, she thought getting stuff for her parents which makes them happy is the most important. She says she's afraid of not seeing her parents being happy. She also thinks about her parents when she eats really great food. She'll be thinking if her parents had it before and taking them there next time. She says that not long ago, her mom finally learned how to test message her. But before she could reply, her mom wrote ' My daughter, thank you for definitely replying to my message, so I'm thanking you before hand.' HB was really touched. She's also sad that she hasn't taken her parents to Japan after her dad retired. She says that if you're having a hard time trying to find a present for Mother's Day, ask the ppl around you. Last year, Shim Taeyoon wrote a letter to his parents on Mother's Day. He did it on the webpage of the church that they go to. This is more meaningful than going on a trip with them or buying things. One of the designer's daughter (a little kid) who she knows, gathered past pictures of her parents and rearranged them according to chronological order and gave it to her parents for Mother's Day last year. So she asked her parents what she should get them, her mom said she just wants her daughter to stay healthy. She says that it's the least she can do for her parents. So tips to what to do for Mother's Day: 1. Send them a meaningful text message, like I miss you. 2. Take them to a delicious place, even at the tent place in front of your school for rice cake is good enough. 3. Read a meaningful book to your parents. 4. Just doing this and that (little things) for your parents everyday.
