On another note, I didn't want to say this but I'm a little bit sad about the paper crane project. Hwangbo just released her album, an album she's worked hard on and instead of a gift that symbolizes her success, she receives something in relation to a TV show that she did more than 6 months ago...As a singer striving to do my best work, I wouldn't be pleased and would begin wondering if people like me only because I was Hwang buin and if indeed they began to like me around that time, wouldn't they appreciate me now and not always have to put me back into the Hwang buin identity?
Even if she's dating HJ, which wouldn't surprise me, I still think she would like people to leave the WGM behind and be her fan for the singer and not for anything else...that's just my two cents...Nevertheless, I'm sure she'd be touched by the amount of work and time spent to make those...still to me it was bitter sweet...in my opinion, the best way now to show affection toward her is to support her as an individual, as a singer...she'd be more grateful than anything else...

hwang bo is a singer who spent lotsa time doing variety shows i.e. xman, infinity girls, we got married, nodaji. she also a singer who did a lot of charity work. and for sure she is a georgeous singer with remarkable s-line. people admire her from many direction, not only her singing ability. myself know her from wgm than i learned about her xman day, chakra days and this latest one arisong days. should there's no wgm, i dont think i will be able to know this wonderful woman. given her appreciative nature, i dont think hwang bo will regret this fact.

for matter of fact, she will always be known as the general from xman, ex-chakra member, leader of disbanded chakra, hwang buin, ideal girl of yunho/micky/nickhun, noona from idol world, one of the Moohan Girls, etc. all were her past/current role in the industry. and it may accumulated. i really hope so. just because her role as hwang buin attract sooo much attention, people may take times to get over it (maybe dont). as long as those fan move and support along with her, i dont see any problem.

another matter of fact, stuff sent to hwang bo was not only the cranes. i m sorry that u only noticed those. for malaysian n brunei part we also sent her perfume, necklace, brooches and many messages meant for her singing career. i believe my co hwangboer or joongboer from other countries also sent about the same; our token of love.

and i always think my ownself contribution is very very little to hwang bo that i need to work with everybody else to make the difference. make it joongboer, or tripple s, or hyunnies, or 2pmers, or elf, or cassie or anybody else. and everybody dont think alike, as long as we respect each other, things will sail smoothly. dont you think people care about her enough to drop by here and comment? let us appreciate them and give them love. by the way, my fellow malaysian and brunei joongboer or hwangboer folded the crane for our beautiful hwang bo, not for anybody else appreciation. i m sure she appreciates the hard work to her content as much we appreciate her hard work so far. that's what matter to us.

As for the papercranes project, I get where you all guys are coming from. Personally for me, Im quite apprehensive about the papercrane gifts because for one thing, she is trying to promote herself as an artist, and if people continue to see her as "Buin," i think that would hinder her effort in trying to make an identity for herself.

But if there is one thing that's good, Joongboers support HB too, esp when her new MV came out. Im all for joongboers making papercranes, it doesnt mean than they just see her as just--- " someone else's buin". Im grateful to them because theyre the ones who actually push through more votes for her in MNet.

And joongbo fanbase is really large--- add to that the triple S joongboers. She really took care of KHJ, especially during those grueling BOF filming, im sure she would have gained more fans now, especially those who know ss501.

Remember that HB's original fans are from her Chakra days-- and they've all grown up, 20's and above. When WGM came, she had more younger fans now. Isnt that a good thing?

But the thing is, HB would feel she's rather stuck in the "buin" image. If I recall, didnt she tell once in a show that we should get out of that joongbo perspective? Afterall, she's a singer first and foremost. I dont think she would like it if everyone saw her as a "buin", not "HWANGBO".

But lets face it--- WGM was the turning point in her career. She hasnt had a hit since Chakra days, "Get Hot" MV was just blah. Now that she's having a major comeback, joongboers have become more active now in supporting her. Remember that joongboers have come to support KHJ's activity too in BOF.

As long as joongboers support her individual activities like voting for her in Mnet, i dont see any problem.

sorry to cut our post.. i totally agree in every word you said (or typed).. the paper cranes project is a joint effort done by JOONGBO fans all over the globe.. so it's only suitable that the gift they've sent are also JOONGBO inspired.. it's undeniable that her wgm exposure boosted her career and popularity thus creating a large-scale fan base.. the project actually brought all her fans together.. the voting on mnet is a proof itself that she's supported in every corner of the world.. i work at home so i have the leisure to check the poll (and the thread) every once in a while from 9am-3am and it's very noticeable that votes for HB are coming in very constantly which goes to show that someone's voting evry hour, every minute, every second on different time zones for her.. unless her fans are a bunch of insomniacs, nocturnal and bats.. yea that would be weird..

I don't know why people feel the need to apologize or say sorry when they state their opinion. There is absolutely no reason. You decided to participate, you agree that this project is a good thing and from the very beginning I thought it was wrong and I finally voiced it. People may like Hwang bo for whatever reason and I continue to state that personally I wouldn't see it as a compliment that I am adored because I'm someone's wife and therefore receive present perhaps one day when I do some great project at work and people send me something in relation to my personal/wife status. But that's just me. People love others for different reasons and it's great that Hwang bo is receiving support, although again personally I wouldn't perceive it as positive. That does not mean that I devalue the work that people have put up or compared it to the work that Hwang bo has done. I do not think I did that in my previous message. It was actually because of people's time and work that I held back but then again just the time when it was sent really made me want to voice my opinion

But we are not going to argue about how to express our affection toward someone - that is pointless since we are all different human beings and with different ways of expressing each other but at least I believe we are all mature enough in voicing our opinion respectfully about each other. Thank you for this post because you expressed my own sentiment toward this whole project. While I appreciate the hard works ppl put into this, and it must have been very nice for Hwangbo to receive all those showers of colorful cranes in the mail for her birthday, I can't help but think how exasperated it is for her in realizing that even after almost a year, she can't divorce herself from a past project. I'm reminded of the Pocha Pocha interview where she admitted that the one thing bugging her lately was how people seem to forget that she's "Hwangbo" and not just Hwang Buin...and how ppl use the latter to call her. And this interview was taken during WGM time!

So b/c of my frustration at this, I asked the initator of the Crane Project why they're doing it. And I discovered that originally it was not intended as a birthday gift at all but since they couldn't make the deadline for a WGM date (such as anniv. or whatever), the next best thing for them was her Birthday. And as missauditor said, there were other gifts for her as well so I'm more pacified with the whole idea =D

Now onto some spazz!!

1. OMG! I finally find a computer/network where Mnet is not block and I can actually vote now!! and further OMG! she's leading. YAY! *does dorky flaily dance*

2. All the news about how her song is doing in Europe is making my flaily dance even more spasstic! For some reasons, am more psyched over this development than even her progress in Korea.

3. Her FREAKING SMOKING MV! While I didn't like some of the close up shots and I'm still not sure about the whole bra/jacket combo, the rest of the MV was fabulous. I love the torn stockings, for some reasons I find that on her soo sexy instead of trashy like how I usually view torn stockings in general.

I adore her outfit when she's in the tunnel. Those shots are my favorite. Then when she dances, is it me or does she looks so young during those sequence? Like Chakra days young. And her eye circle move. Adorable!

And I finally can say that "Arisong" is now in my brain and being awesome. I totally like it now! =D
