basically what the title says. i'm in need of a durable, beautiful phone (verizon).
my old one is dying on me. i was thinking of getting the chocolate but i heard A LOT of bad reviews on it plus the whole touch pad thing is annoying. the most i'm willing to pay is about $150. also, i'm thinking of switiching to sprint. should i, or should i not?
& which camera do you guys like better?-
Canon PowerShot SD800
Canon PowerShot SD40
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T30
...or maybe a Konica Minolta? idk what's good so just recommend me anything!

all of the three is pretty good, canon and sony digital cameras work really well, but i say go for the sony one because it has a greater megapixel and it's thinner..hmm but all those digital cameras cost around 300 dollars, but you're onlying willing to pay 150, so i don't know.

sd40 only beats the other 2 in style...it looks great, but doesnt perform as well as the sd800 or the sony t30.
between the sony t30 and sd800, the SD800 has better potential to take better pictures.
the sony t30 has great battery life and a larger (3.0 inch) LCD screen.

they'll all take decent pictures.
if you like taking pictures of scenery and landscape, the sd800 is the way to go. it offers wide angle shots, which is a great for those type of pictures.
otherwise, i dont think you can go wrong with any of them.

if it were me, i'd choose between the sd800/t30, mainly beacuse of image stablization.

easy answer.
canon sd800.
you really dont need that much megapixel for just point and shoot camera. 5MP should be plenty.

megapixels dont translate to quality. making any purchase based only upon mp ratings is absurd. canon or nikon ftw.
I am the minority here.

you think the size increase in the sensor on the sd900 will improve image quality despite the increase in MP from 7MP(in the sd800) to 10MP? IS is great, but i'd rather learn to hold steady or use some kind of support if i can get higher image quality.

How much is the SD800 going for right now?

I think you should invest in a SD400 or SD450 (because you really don't need an updated version).

That way, you can spend more on your phone because a $150 phone isn't that great and you'd probably want a different one after a few months.

Instead of buying both, why don't you invest in a cell phone with a great camera? I heard that the new Nokia phones and Sony Ericsson phones take fairly good pictures. I think their phones come equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera.

verizon wireless can't use those phones. actually you really could combine digital camera and phone because they're getting better at making good camera phones... i have the samsung a990 (3.2mp autofocus flash) and it's really nice. i hardly use my digital camera anymore ^^;
