Hey guys tongue.gif
I'm planning to buy a digi cam that's in the price range max. $200
I just want a slim & sleek camera that does the job. Haha.
So.. what would be the best choices (best quality) cameras I could choose from?
some questions I have?

1) What are the BEST digital camera companies? Canon? Fuji? Samsung?

2) Is it better to buy online, or should I go to a store like Best Buy?

3) If you have a digi cam in mind, or if you own one yourself, please give me feedback! I would highly appreciate it smile.gif

Thanks in advanceee smile.gif

Canon & Nikon are best, fuji next probably. It's up to you where you'd buy it, I'd suggest at least going to a store to hold a camera before making any purchase.
I am the minority here.

your budget seriously limits what you can get, especially since you want a slim and sleek digital camera. try to save up money so you can get a better one because maybe it's just me but if i'm going to spend money i might as well spend enough of it to buy something really good if that makes any sense ^^;; anyway canon or nikon definitely ^^

canon seems to be one of the more popular digicam companies.

i would scope out details of the camera you want online. look for reviews like on steve's digicam (http://www.steves-di..._cameras.html). also check for llisted prices. then check out the camera instore and hold it in your hands to see how it feels. then i would just buy from which merchant has the lowest price.

some things to consider before buying are zoom (optical/digital), shutter speed, type of memory, megapixels, picture size options. there are a lot more depending on how picky you are but those are good to start from.

if you can, i would suggest you save up a little more and try to buy a little bit nicer camera. you really cant get much with $200. if it's an absolute must that you get a camera in the $200 range that's slim/compact, i'd say the fuji finepix f20. if you dont mind a larger sized camera, i'd say the best canon A series under $200.

but you can do so much better if you go up to the $300~350 range. you can get a decent and modern camera that can last you much longer.

i'm not sure which companies are the best. i think it really depends on the camera itself. i think it's better to buy online because they tend to have some great deals online and coupons and whatnot. plus, most of the time it's free shipping! smile.gif i have a sony w-50 and it's really cute. i love the features on it. i got it for around $235 which is a bit over your price range. like watcher said, i think you should save up more and get a better camera. you'd want to pay good money for something that would last longer than pay less for something that's cheaper [in price and quality]. believe me, i've learned. but if you still want to get a camera under $200 i suggest you look at canon cameras, they're especially well known for good quality.
