i prefer shinhwa's version, but there are dozens of artists who have done those non-smoking songs. and as you can see those campaigns aren't working at all.

Some thing that i don't understand about korea and smoking habits, it that everybody saids that it is normal in korea for young men to smoke. but when you said normal, what do you mean with that. every country have young smokers, but one thing is what is common and other thing is what is accepted. i mean when i was 12 years old all my friends were smokers (both men and women) and that wasn't accepted at all. i even remember that one of my classmates got a suspension because she was caught smoking in the bathroom.

Do u think that Dbsk is more popular then the great Shinhwa??? i honestly think this- no matter how much people are hyping up dbsk/tvxq, i dont think they are more popular than Shinhwa. deep down, people know they love Shinhwa- meaning the people that were huge fans but have "put shinhwa on the back burner"... truthfully, i think these "old" fans know that they dont love dbsk on such a level as they did shinhwa...
alsoooo--- back to the original question on whether i think dbsk is more popular than shinhwa... [since i kinda wandered off and started babbling about something different] dbsk = not more popular than shinhwa i.m.o. why? just because dbsk might be on more things and more heavily promoted, doesnt mean they're more popular... i think that when artists are popping up a LOT in interviews, random shows, etc.. that they're trying to publicize themselves b/c they arent so popular.. [however this isn't ALWAYS true] i mean- look at Shinhwa--- they're obviously popular enough to still gain support from the fans during their solo projects like their acting or just solo singing projects like M and Hyesung... and plus-- it's just seems that Shinhwa is a constant topic... to me- dbsk just pops up say when they release a new album or when 1 or 2 of them are on a show... or something like that...

but back to you topic..

dbsk is popular.. but shinhwa paved the way for them without shinhwa they would of made plenty of mistakes and much more.. well dbsk nice now.. but lets wait .. another 6 years.. and see what they end up like.. will they last as long?.. from the shows i watched they have like no bonding what so ever. if you watch shinhwas earlier shows from like 1st jib they had a strong bond back then too.. but.. without a strong bond a group cant last that long.. and from what i see dbsk has no bond, from like x man all i see is them competeing agaisnt each other and trying to beat them so they'll look good in front of everyone. but shinhwa they have fun its not so serisouse for them. but i still say shinhwa is wayyy better

I'm a shinhwa fan, but I do think that dbsg is more popular than shinhwa at the moment. It's crazy, when you watch a perf by theirs, all you can see in the audience are red balloons! but the thing is, they're young, they're the new thing right now.

well shinhwa was the reason that i started liking kpop (i'mnot even asian and i hardly speak english but for Shinhwa i'm here) . i completely fell for those guys and they will always be number 1 in my heart, but lets be honest, right now in korea the most popular group is dbsk. because they are young (the new thing) and they are more appealing for most school girls. but that doesn't mean anything, there has been others group with huge success but none of them have been as consistent as shinhwa or has been there for so long. besides dbsk is with sm and they have already showed that they are an idol maker factory. sometimes i read how people said that they hate leesooman and bla bla bla and they are always supporting sm's pockets.

and about why this thread is moving so slowly, i think that it is because sometimes there is no topic at all to discuss, or talk. topics last like 3 post and then somebody writes some nonsense, then others follow, the topic is lost and finally the thread is in slump because there is nothing to talk besides repeating how much we love shinhwa<--and now matter how much people love shinhwa they don't get encouraged to post like that.

but well that's just my oppinion.

^Yeah, i agree with you. I always think of SHINHWA first when it comes to the entertainment category. They make me smile when i'm upset. I'm really gald that i'm a fan of theirs. And look where it's gotten us, there's only 6 guys but we have 64 pages!!! Now that's something that will double soon.
