hi, i am a freshman and now i am considering what specific thing to major in. i am currently aiming for a finance and account major, but i'm not doing so good on the intro course to business. and also since everything is run on computers like programs do all the accounting stuff, it's harder to find a job for this major which is so common. i know a lot of people are majoring in it. i was thinking of majoring in computer science or engineering. but i'm not sure.
what do you think? can you guys give me some advice? it would be a great help.

Hi there. First off, my only advice to you is to do what you love. I'm also a freshman. I am currently studying Information Technology. After I get my degree, I will do a few internships and then I will go for a Masters in Business Administration.
Sure, It's great to know database, networking, programming, and building websites. But to be honest, companies don't really need an IT to survive. There are still businesses doing quite well without an IT person, sometimes even better than those with an IT person. However, businesses DO need accountants to maintain their economy.
If you love working with computers, then go for it. :] However, I think that you'd be a better candidate in the business world if you had an education in finance/accounting (major) with a background in IT (minor) than someone who only has a background in IT or finance/accounting.

i'd say if you know you're going to do well in a computer science/engineering major, go for it, and then do accounting/finance as a minor.
but it depends on what type of workload you want. depending on your school, a minor's a few extra classes, that way you can get "the best of both worlds" - so-to-speak.
