ok so my roommate.. every time he takes a poop he makes these loud farting noises. it's pretty disturbing because my room is right next to the bathroom. not only that, but his poop smells really really bad. like, i know poop isnt supposed to smell good or anything like that, but god, cant he use the freaking fan or spray the fragrance stuff afterwards?? not only that, but check this out. he leaves poop stains on the toilet seat. holy crap. not only that, but sometimes he leaves poop stains on the floor o_O .. and not only that, sometimes there are poop stains on top of the toilet cover. wow. how mini poop ends up there is beyond me. this only happened recently and i've been living with him for a few months now. so im guessing that for the first few months he actually cleaned up his mess thoroughly. oh, and that brings me to another point. he uses like 1/4 to 1/2 the toilet roll sometimes after taking a poop. wow. i guess he uses it to clean up his mess, but damn. is there anyone on the same boat as me? sorry i cant go through all the posts in this thread!

Not completely the same but the nastiness is still there in my experience too. My roommate clogs the toilet a lot and there have been many times I had to see what I didn't want to EVER and it's HUGE. Freaking a. She also goes through a TP roll in like 3 days and it's constantly replaced. I had to go to Costco to buy those huge packs of them with like 20 something and it's going fast. Also, she leaves period stains everywhere. There is much more to rant about (she never cleans after herself, she never takes out the trash, her sink looks like she used it for a toilet, etc.) but ugh, it disgusts me to go into detail.

Ugh, I hate my roommate so much! She talks to her boyfriend on the phone way past midnight when I'm sleeping and I have class at 8am. Sometimes they get into arguments and start fighting over the phone and she starts crying and throwing stuff when I'm trying to sleep. Wait, not sometimes.. ALWAYS. They act so childish and fight over the stupidest things ever. Now I always listen to music when I sleep. Without music, about 99% of the time I would wake up in the middle of the night cause they're on the phone. Also, she is afraid of the dark and won't close the tv when she sleeps. She won't even use headphones when I'm trying to study. I really can't stand her. I definitely want to live in a single next term.

^ This is why I'm glad I don't dorm with girls (I'm a guy). No offense to the girls here, but before freshman year I never realized that a LOT of college girls are complete slobs. Now I can't say that guys are any better, but you would never have expected it you know? I mean when I was little, I kinda expected the girl's bathrooms to be shiny and with golden toilets and everything.

One of my freaky older roommates (30) stole my pot cover and claimed it belonged to her. She told me smiling, that she had brought it over from Arkansas and had it for 3 years. o_O Told me maybe I was just "forgetful."


I went home that weekend and brought back my mom's matching pot that went along with the lid. Same color and handle designs. She saw it, put the cover on top, and turned red after it fit perfectly. She also apologized and said she could have sworn she had one just like it.

Room mates. LOL. Some of us love them and can't live without them, but then there are some who just can live without them. For me its a mix. I like my room mate, but she has this split personality which is very very unpredictable.

Does anyone have that type?

When your room mate is nice when you guys are alone, but when she's with friends, physically or on the phone, she becomes another person? Lets hope you guys don't have that type.

So yea. Thats my room mate, can live with her and sometimes just want to be without her.

reading this thread just bring back so much memory of my freshman year roommate
don't wanna say too much
but lets just say that after freshman year i NEVER NEVER NEVER want a double room anymore
since 2nd year ive had single room
and i notice that suddenly i get along with all the girls in my apartment

so i guess that the bottom line is that everyone has different living habits
everyone may do this and that sometimes that are annoying to others
when i heard my friend who had a triple room in an already small college dorm room (if u ever visit UCSD, you'll see how small some colleges's dorm are)
i was like WHAT.....what about a little bit of privacy
i think everyone needs their privacy once in a while and sometimes having the so called "bad" roommate is just not gonna do it

My roommate is disgusting.
She doesn't take the trash out!

Even if there is trash SPILLING out of the trash, she just leaves it.

It's so disgusting.
Her pads are partially "rolled up" and you can see EVERYTHING.
AND SHE STILL DOESN'T TAKE THE TRASH OUT.

wow these are pretty bad... my roommates are pretty tame compared to you guys =\, but i'm still annoyed.

every once in awhile, i always find my clothes on the floor that were on my chair and then i notice she hung up something on the wall so i'm guessing she used my chair. the least she could do is put my clothes back on my hair, seriously. if you're going to use something of mine without asking, AT LEAST make it look like you never touched it.
both of my roommates like getting drunk too. the last day of classes before finals, one of them comes home drunk and spends the whole night in our bathroom throwing up. at one point i think she even threw up in her bed EW. my OTHER roommate slept on the floor cuz she was so drunk and ended up throwing up on our carpet. buut she cleaned it up the next morning so that was good but still ehh.

I lived in a suite, so I didn't have a roommate technically but the girl I lived with first year was rude and disgusting.
I went home for a weekend and come back to a kitchen full of FRUIT FLIES! She doesn't take out the trash, or the recycling.
She'd buy TONS of bananas, eat one, and they'd turn black and then she would throw them into the freezer along with her bajillion tubs of icecream.
She never cleaned either. And her parents are rude.
AND she partied a LOT. It'd be three in the morning and some guy would come and carry her into our suite to her bedroom. He'd leave right after though but still...

I'm glad I don't live with her anymore. My current housemate is clean and nice but she's LOUD, especially when she's really excited.

My other housemate moved out (thank goodness). She kept an iguana in her room and had a box of crickets she'd feed him. She kept that box in the laundry room, it stank, crickets would jump out of the box everytime she opened it. There were soooo many dead crickets in the basement (that's where she lived). I am terrified of bugs so I was hugely relieved when she left.

I don't have too many things to say about my room mate ... it's just that we were such on opposite ends of the spectrum that we barely EVER talked. Sometimes we go days without talking. She was a sorority fashion minded girl (I guess she was close to being a valley girl?) and I was just a video game minded person who liked my dark corner, lol.

Her problem was that she was MESSY. She started using my trash can and never took her own out. At times when I came back to my dorm there were shoes thrown all over the place and it bugged the fark out of me.
I'm happy I moved out.

I think i may have one of the worse roommate stories ever.

so my roommate comes in piss drunk around 2AM and taht's when i went to sleep. at 5:11AM i hear liquid hitting fabric and lo and beyold, that bastard is pissing on my bed. i think of pushing him across the room but then the piss will just spatter everywhere - not worth it.. so i punched him A LOT to try to wake him up but it didnt work.. ugh. so then he finished and made his way back to his bed. alright.. so i was traumatized, pissed, and tired. ugh. so i take everytthing off my bed and find out that the piss seaped through to my mattress (but it has some nylon kind of material on it) so i took 20 minutes trying to wash it out with hot water and dish washing soap lol.. since that was all i had

i flip my bed over and rotate it so the pissed side is away from my head and i scrunch up on my bed with my blanket and a banana doll for a pillow (my pillow was wet too) and slept for 2 hours.. woke up, tried to wake my roommate up by squirting water on him lol, but he didnt wake up.. that john teshtard.

so at 11, i wake him up and tell him and he's like "gasp. no way!" and i said yeah, you better get your ass to the mall and get me a new pillow. then he went back to sleep. ARHGKLFHKLdsjdsklfjadsklf,.

so yeah, i did laundry at 7am, was cranky the whole day, had tons of HW, but i got a new pillow

the only weird thing is.. he never really said sorry and now whenever we even see each other,, we dont say hey or even talk to each other LOL.. it's SO AWKWARD right now if we're in the room at the same time..i mean it's most likely because he's extremely embarrassed OR the only other reason why is that he's.. pissed that i made him get a pillow? lol.. but that really, shouldnt be the case. ugh. i want to get the hell out of the freshmen dorms. UGHHHH

i get along with my housemate just fine, but she can be a little self centered sometimes. she likes to argue and she always thinks she's right. i was fine with that, because i never argued with her so we never had a problem. her bf pampers her and whenever she gets mad at him, even if it was her fault, he would console her and apologize. she became too accustomed to that and thinks everyone should pamper her. she has the notion that it's either her way or the highway. if you do something wrong to her, she'll find a way to get back to you. she even put laxatives in this one guys food that she didn't like O___O. i mean she's a good person, but when you don't agree with her, things can go really bad.

yesterday some stuff came up involving my own personal life and she didn't agree with my choices. she said some good points, but i know my decision was correct. it's just i'm good with words like her so i couldn't win the argument. it just really frustrates me how she's upset with me because i'm not doing what she wants. it's my own personal life O___O

we were suppose to have a home dinner with some friends yesterday, but i had to bail on her last minute because i had personal issues to take care of. so today i told her i'll make the food that i was suppose to last night for dinner and then she said okay and she goes out to eat dinner without telling me. so here i am cooking food for 2 hours so she wouldn't be mad anymore. and when i'm done, she's like "oh i already ate". i'm like . WOW. now i have plenty of left overs. great. she knew i was making food for her too, but she didn't even bother to tell me she already ate until i finished and asked her if she was hungry. i just don't understand what she's thinking. waste of my efforts. i mean, i didn't do anything wrong, but i'm trying to be nice to her, and she just doesn't appreciate my efforts. she's just upset that i'm going against her opinions.

she's also a very messy person. i don't mind if her room is messy, but at least keep the common areas clean. it's always me that has to clean up. her and her bf are the loudest couple i know. her bf is always here and when he studies, if someone is loud, he gets annoyed, but when someone else is studying, he just yaps away. her bf also has an anger problem. they got in an argument and at 4 am he was banging on my wall. so inconsiderate.

Two of my housemates messed up their sleeping patterns this weekend by playing some stupid video game. SO what they do is they sleep around 1 pm and wake up at 11 pm!!! Last night, I stayed up till 6:30 am coz they were so loud. I only got 3 hours of sleep today and hence, made me cranky. And everytime they go up and down the stairs they run and my room literally shakes every time they do that! Oh I'm the one only one who cleans the washroom. They're so lazy!! But one of my housemates is the worst. He left all his dishes for two weeks and went home the day before reading week. So I ended up washing all his dishes after my orgo test. Ughh One more month and I'm out of here! I can't wait!!! LOL

Few years back I used to roommate with four other girls in a 2-bedroom apartment. Two of them were awesome -- a tad OCD and slow sometimes, but otherwise they were fantabulous.

The other two, on the other hand, were barely tolerable

Roomie #1 - She was a compulsive liar. She would lie to you about anything and everything -- and i mean EVERYTHING. and to top it off, she wasn't even a good liar.. so she would be caught in her own lie in the beginning, and as her lies progress, you can see the sweats forming on her face and her stutters get more frequent... and it becomes pitiful after a while. She also wasn't so great with money deals, and I had actually crunched some numbers and found out that she had been conning the roommates with money here and there... which was brought to attention, and of course, she lied again. 'Course, she was a "good" person, if you would call her that, and she had her good sides too, but she was one of the reasons why I only lived with them for a year and no more. :/

Roomie #2 - Talk about lack of hygiene. Now, i'm not exactly miss. clean freak either but I wash myself and keep myself pretty well groomed... and my room is quite liveable as well! and hey, i think it's safe to say that after you eat and you see dishes stinking up the kitchen, you CLEAN them... but she obviously disagreed in these regards. There were instances where she would leave cereal bowls on top of the kitchen table from morning till afternoon, causing the milk and cereal residue to crust and harden on the bowl... somebody would eventually clean up after her because no amount of stressing her about it seemed to work, and it was always so hard to get those crusts off of the bowls and spoons. She would also hastily close the lids on the left over foods... particularly banchan... now, if you eat korean food, banchan's always in ur fridge... and some stuff you just GOTTA close it right in order to keep it from stinking up the entire fridge and furthermore stinking up your kitchen and livingroom whenever you open the fridge. BUt no... not this girl... Needless to say, we would ventilate out our place so frequently -- sometimes even at 3 AM when it was freezing cold outside. -sigh- About her personal hygiene? don't even get me started.. We (me + other roomies) used to PUSH her into the bathroom and tell her not to come out until she showered. I mean, REALLY? we're not 4 year old anymore. =/

OMFG i live with 3 other girls one of which is my best friend. we all have our own rooms with our own bathroom in each and we pay the same for each month.
girl A lives next to me and lets her bf MOVE in with her against the lease since the room is meant only for one person so technically she broke it.
girl B is the type of girl that cannot live far from family, seriously its a 30 minute freeway drive home and she starts getting sad after 5 days of being here that she goes home every weekend to see her family. [no clue why she doesnt live at home]
so we're responsible for everything in the kitchen and living room altogether, the sliding door SHATTERS cause some stupid person across the street used a bebe gun and shot at our glass. my best friend and i had a small get together two - three weeks prior to that, that day when we found out me and her were gone ALL DAY we come home, the other two both come out and tells us that it's broken and that it;'s OUR fault. one i dont get why they didnt call the office ASAP, and two we havent been out there. the last person to use it was girl A and her bf when she was cooking, and because our guy friends only go out there they say its our fault when our guy friends havent been over for amonth. so watever we cant find culprit so we had to pay each, but it's not fair how girl A has to only pay half while we have to each pay 165! a lil revenge, bf and i paid on time [rather asap] cause we didnt want to forget and have them charge us. they waited til the ppl downstairs reminded them and most likely they got a fine cause the notice was two months later. hello we're college students learn to check up on those things on ur own. if u dont want to get charged get on top of ur finances.
than over the weekend, bf and i went to party came back with our close guy friends, girl A has her boyfriends sister and her bf sleep over in the living room along with our two other friends, all four of which were KTFO, we come in it was dark so we had to turn on the light really quick, and we went to our rooms, the guys went with my bf, i was in my room for a good 30 min got bored went over to bf room for 2 minutes than she comes over opens the door and goes "you know what, you guys are really rude. comin in here turnin on the lights, slamming the doors, being loud, people are trying to sleep so shut up" and my bf gets pissed and goes "and u think its not rude for someone INTOXICATED to tell us that" what we do in our rooms is OUR business, we werent loud btw, she only heard us cause she left her door open, if i couldnt hear it than she cant cause girl a's room is next to mine. she's annoying. i had to share rooms with her last year int he dorms...girl NEVER EVER ASKED if her bf can sleep over. she just let him when i told her not to bring him over two three nights of the week IS THAT SO HARD?! plus he lived on campus too!! i dont get why they couldnt go to her room. omfg i wanna slap her so bad. btw she cant cook so everytime she tries to she sets off the fire alarm it gets annoying
