It's not my story but it's so funny I'll share it.

It was 6AM. My friend was asleep, and he smelled something burning. He woke up, and he found his Indian roomate
burning crickets!
It was his roomate's religion to burn crickets at 6 in the morning.

Haha

As I was reading this I burst out laughing. This was hilarious.

I had a suite in the Honors dorm of my college, so I shared a room with my roommate (who I totally loved, she was cool and I'm sharing an apartment with her and another friend in the fall), and then there was a living room in the middle and another room with two girls in it. The two girls were cool people, but one of them made clubbing/partying Thursday night through Sunday night her lifestyle and she always stumbled back to the dorm, drunk and without her id or key, of course, so she would sit there and bang on the door of our suite at 4am until someone opened it it for her XD

I remember one time she banged on the door for 30 minutes until I finally opened it (because I was really tired, it was 3 in the morning, and I wanted the banging to freaking stop). And it was just my luck that ten minutes later, just as I was snuggling back into my bed, the fire alarm goes off (and like always, it's because someone burned something in the dining hall connected to the dorm) and doesn't stop for another ten minutes. Annoying.

That's not the worst roommate horror story I have though. I was sitting in my boyfriend's dorm room one day, doing homework and hanging out with him, when his roommate walks in. This guy just had no hygiene whatsoever - he dips (which is the nastiest habit ever), he had real bed bugs that bit him cause he didn't wash his sheets properly - but right in front of us, he reached down into his pants, scratched his butt, and then sniffed his fingers. Ewwwww. I never thought someone could be so disgusting but apparently he was.

Oh, and one of my friends at UT-Austin had a roommate who left her bloody tampons lying around in the restroom. THAT is really really gross and unsanitary too. How do these people live at home?! Do their parents not care? Ugh.

Short this time. My friend that was supposed to dorm with me: she decided to become a part time student, therefore she couldn't dorm. So I roomed with a random person: she backed out to live in the party dorm. Word.

First year of college, my first roomate was a total weirdo. Every since I moved in and met her, she has this awful mean mug on her face like she's pissed off at everything. She hardly smiled and always bring her boyfriend over every single day. Basically he was living in her room. They would have sex every single day and loud moaning noises is heard through my wall. I hate it so much that I banged on the wall and even complained to her and the RA, but nothing was done, so I gave up and waited til spring semester was over. She moved out and a friend of mine I met during fall became my best roomie ever biggrin.gif We shop together and didn't had to worry about eating each others food because sharing is caring tongue.gif

That is the nastiest thing I ever read when it comes to roommates. How freakin' hard is it to go to the bathroom to do that or throw disgusting, aging tampons in a damn trash can. That is just really, really nasty.

I like my apartment-mates and all, but there's just one problem.

One of them smells REALLY REALLY BAD. Luckily for me, he's not my roommate, but man, he smells so bad.
At first I thought it was just something he ate, but then it got worse. If he goes into the living room, half an hour later, the living room is gonna start to smell. If he goes into the kitchen, it's gonna smell. His room smells horrible, I wonder how the other guy deals with it. You can smell his body odor from the front door. It's soooo bad. I don't think he has bad hygiene or anything because I couldn't smell anything at the beginning of the school year. I've just noticed this about 2 months ago.

The smell sometimes makes me queezy. But I don't want to tell him straight up because I might hurt his feelings.

That is by far the funniest one I have read. Luckily, my first year having a roommate (3 of them), was really perfect. My roommate was as normal and easy to live with as they come. The other ones were cool and keep to themselves. Me and another one find out we like Smallville and Heroes, so we would get popcorn and watch that every week. He left that semester and another roommate came to replace him who was quit as well. Weird cause we both played World of Warcraft but never really talked to each other. He seem like he was a cool person. I hope this Fall is just as good as the first year.

Oh dear, I don't think I've ever hated anyone more than my room mate.
First impressions never lie. >.>

First off, during the first couple weeks of school, her alarm would go on at around 6ish AM (which is totally fine) except she doesn't turn it off. She lets it ring for who knows? Ten friggen minutes and the volume is on MAX. I didn't understand what the point of the alarm was, I mean she doesn't hear it so why use it? That's not even the worse part. THe worse part is that she texts WAY too much and her phone is always vibrating until like 1AM. That means I only lived off of 5 hours of sleep daily, wth!

Second off, she would storm in and out of the room and turn on the lights, EVEN WHEN I'M ASLEEP! The lights are incredibly blinding, and I wake up because of her, all the damn time.

And the dirty-ness. Ugh, seriously...is it that hard to throw your trash away? The trash can is RIGHT outside our door because we are the first room when you enter the suite and friggen, her friggen garbage is SPILLING OUT. Tissue papers are al over her side of the room. Just look at her side makes me want to puke. I feel so disgusted.

I couldn't take this anymore so I had to go talk to the RA about it and we had the RA come talk to us, which wasn't pleasant.

The whole entire time she kept making up excuses or saying "Yeah, whatever I just wanna get this over with"

Like seriously, wtf is wrong with you??

Even now, it's been like a week after our RA talk and I still cannot stand her. We haven't talked since and I can tell that she dislikes me.
She refuses to use her lamp when she studies really late and keeps the friggen room lights on blinding me but when I was studying last night with the room lights, she turned it off. SHE seriously pulled the last straw, seriously. How much more rude can you be? I don't understand how her brain works. The room is still dirty. Her friggen cinnamon bon rolls from 2 weeks ago are still sitting here (the empty boxes with crumbs all over it)
Everything is so disgusting in this room and our floor is filled with grass because she runs daily.
She doesn't clean up and things are just NOT working out.
I cannot take her any longer because everytime I talk to her, she ignores me.

And not to mention she absolutely loves making up excuses. Like when I asked her to use her lamp, she'll say "I don't have room for it on my desk, I don't even know where it's at"
Wth? MAKE ROOM FOR IT, and your goddamn lamp is sitting right there, geez.
Seriously, I don't know what her brain is made out of.

So I've decided to schedule an appointment with the Dean, HOPING that there will be a solution, room change?
I dunno, let's hope it goes well because I am going crazy because of her.

my current roommate and I get along perfectly. We have many things in common it's pretty crazy how they matched us up so well. One bad thing is that our next door neighbor is a punk.

the bastard is nocturnal
comes home around 5-6 am and sleep until 3pm
so that means i have to be considerate and turn off the freaking light when i'm studying
whereas the bastard keeps the light on unless i tell him to turn it off and does not use the headphone when i sleep

I normally get along with my roommate. I keep to myself and she usually lets me. But sometimes, the things she says when we do interact bother me. It's finals week this week and I offered to drive her to Starbucks to get some coffee before studying. On the way, we were talking about how stressful exams were and she made the statement, "OMG, I'm soooo stressed out this week, you have no idea." To which I replied, "I'm pretty sure I have an idea," being that we both had exams and papers to turn in. She pretty much told me I could NOT understand what she's going through because she was way more stressed out than I could ever be, emotionally, physically, mentally. The way she said it, it was like I did not have the capacity to be stressed at all. Not to mention the fact she pointed out that she only had one class that she's really stressed out about. I have two and a half. xD I argued with her about it, and ended up just saying "never mind, I'm not arguing with you." xD And then sometimes I feel like I'm her older sister. Whenever I go out, for boba or something, I'll come back and she'll catch me and accuse me of going out. Because she's my roommate, she feels obliged to be taken everywhere I go that's fun, no matter the fact that I want to hang out with other people. Because if I went to say, the post office, and she caught me, first she'd accuse me of going out. But after I tell her I went to the post office, she'd immediately say, "oh, never mind." I know she's my roommate and doesn't have a car, but she seriously has other friends who have cars too. But I'm the only one she gets mad at for not taking her places. Do we typically hang out? No, not at all. Because whenever she goes out with her other friends, she doesn't bother to tell me either. *shrug* But yes. She's a considerate roommate otherwise.

compared to that, my roommate isn't that bad. there's been a few weeks where she napped afterclass from 3-9 pm and then stayed up until 5 am. and when we signed up for stuff, she basically singed up for whatever her mom told her to (which was exactly opposite of what she is >____>) argh, and she's got hygenic issues.. like not showering that often, ttrash all over her side of the room and bed (idk if there bedbugs D:). so our room smells pretty bad at times. but she's not that loud, and we get along pretty well in general & share appliances, so I guess I can deal with it for the rest of the year.

neighbor is sa.lgdafglkhaglsajl-ing loud at times. especially after 1 am. and then her alarm clock is SUPER LOUD and sounds like a truck backing up and you can pretty much hear it through the whole floor. There's been a couple times where she stayed in other ppl's rooms and her alarm went off for an hour. wtf, her alarm is pretty stupid to. >____> I thought they all stopped beeping after 10 minutes, but apparently not.
