1) They like to talk and giggle loudly in the bathroom for long periods of time.
2) After they shower, I assume they step of the shower completely soaking wet, because the floor is always flooded after one of them showers.
3) One of them leaves hair everywhere. On the shower wall, the sink, the toilet bowl, the floor...
Hmm...that's pretty much it.

Like after our talk she's been really nice. But her "guy friend" is practically living here!! I hate it! And it's midnight right now and i can hear them laughing like crazy. It's so uncomfortable. Tomorrow I'm getting a form to have my dorm changed. I can't live like this any longer. I don't want to have to wake up and go outside to find some random guy walking around.
Just talk it out with your room-mate. I know some places don't let you change immediately.
IMHO ... leaving a room-mate just because they have a guy is kind of silly, unless it's become a problem that you've talked about with your roomie. If you want to get along you have to be honest with her and how you feel. (I don't understand why having a guy next door is uncomfortable -- co-ed dorms are exactly the same way, you got guys living next to you and walking all over the place.)

we've been in the dorms for about a week and a half now. i spent all of saturday with a friend that was in town for labor day weekend and i came back mid-sunday. after i got settled in i realized my new jar of trail mix was completely empty. i brought it up and she just said that the cafeteria was closed over the weekend and she needed something to eat. i asked her why she didn't just walk somewhere off campus (5~10 minute walk, just as far as the cafeteria) or even just call or text me to ask if she could eat my food, and she replied that i wasn't here for her to ask me
10 minutes later when i was doing laundry down in the basement, she texts me "freaky! the door just opened for me"
so she can text me about a door opening, but she can't bother to text and ask if she can eat my food?
i would've gladly let her eat whatever, just out of respect and common courtesy i would expect her to ask me first
i'm just a little irritated with her anyway. she complains all of the time and goes on and on about really useless things (ie. her one sided 10 minute rant on foot tanlines). she also tried to set me up with her friend whose idea of impressing a girl is saying "ohh aren't i sweet? i took you to a comedy show ;]" after inviting himself to the said comedy show and messing up my plans with people i actually wanted to see that night
i hope i'm not just being uptight

i'm one of those quiet asians, and i LOVE being alone when i'm at home.. and i'm pretty sure they talk bad about me. and one of them has a laugh that's like a shriek.... so whenever they're in the living room at night (i in my room, enjoying time by myself) that one is like screamlaughing... it's scary and annoying at the same time.

We're now splitting up the bills (not including rent) but we're also risking the additional $100/month.
My roommate RARELY cleans. We take turns washing dishes & he only washed them like once when everyone did them at least 4 times. He also leaves his left overs on the counter which attracts ants & flies. -___-

i just got out of a situation just like that so I feel your pain... hopefully your lease will be up soon..
I couldn't find a solution other than just waiting it out for the whole year :/ and it sucks because home is where you should feel the most at ease/comfortable.

When she is here she's louder than a train, never cleans, and is always bringing her "friends" over. Her "friends" are even tired of her and ditch her for us which is something we can't stand because they are EXACTLY like her!
We've tired separately and as a group to try and talk to her about these things especially the cleaning but we've been here almost 2 months and she still hasn't picked up her game. I don't know what to do anymore I just know that sooner or later something is going to happen and her feelings are going to get really hurt.

So originally, it was just gonna be me and two of my friends living in one apartment. But because we wanted to lower our rent, we decided to add a fourth roommate, considering that we do have 4 bedrooms after all. (We initally wanted to leave that room empty for storage/guest room.) So anyway, the fourth roommate just moved in last week. I wouldn't say she's a friend, but more of an acquaintance. Well since she's been here, she's been irritating the freak out of me.
- She's a freeloader. She has not contributed anything. She uses my detergent for her laundry, she uses one of my roommate's lotion every morning, she uses the other roommate's shampoo/bodywash & toothpaste. She uses our pots and pans and plates, and everything else in the kitchen. And when I say everything, I mean it. She thawed my chicken a few days ago, and made dinner for herself AND her boyfriend. Like WTF? She even used one of my roommate's bok choy to make her dinner! ALL OF IT. Now I don't mind her using my stuff or cooking my food.... but she has evidently never heard of asking first. And dang, food is not cheap, especially poultry and meat. And she leaves NOTHING for us. She uses and devours all of it. Oh, and just the other day, she finally bought food, and it's just a bunch of frozen food.
- She's rude. I had some friends over last week, and she definitely gave them a bad first impression. Every time we have guests over, she comes out of her room and joins in on the conversation. Not a problem, but when the conversation gets personal, little missy is still standing there. Also, I use to leave my bedroom door cracked. And she'll just barge in like it's her bedroom. WTF?! She came in one time and started messing with my jewelry while I'm at my desk reading. Then picked up my DVD collections and wanted a synopsis of every freaking movie. HELLO, please refer to the backside of the DVD cover! And apparently little missy did not realize that I was in the middle of reading. So then I eventually started to close my door. BUT I never locked it. So whenever she wants to bug me, she'll just open the door WITHOUT knocking. Again, WTF! I got so pissed. Oh yeah, and apparently, this one time, I wasn't in the apartment, but she was along with one of my other roommates. And she opened my bedroom door just to see if I was in or not. Hell No. So now I lock my door, even when I'm in. Little missy is straight up rude.
I'm done ranting for now.

And I didn't see this at first, but people told me that she kinda uses people and constantly tries to work everything to her benefit.
I love my current roomie! We are super close but we each like having our own space. She's like a sister to me.

Lastly, the thing I hate about her is how messy she gets. She eats at our area rug and leaves her utensils and bowls on the floor. Plastics of her cup noodles ad wrappers of her snacks are scattered throughout the room. Sometimes I would accidentally trip myself over coz her shoes and clothes are all over the floor. Now I wonder what's the use of her shoe rack. I was thinking of changing my room mate but I feel really bad because aside from those she's pretty much okay.

At first he seemed like a swell guy
There's nothing really that bad about him
It's just... he and I have similar class schedules and he never, ever leaves the room unless he's going to class
He's always either sleeping or on the computer
We all want some alone time, don't we?
He watches TV with the volume on really loud with the lights on when I'm trying to sleep (around midnight)
I asked him if he could use his headphones, but he doesn't really talk o_0
He's also in the bathroom for 2~3 hours at night, doing... something...
Other than that, he's a nice guy =p
I'm getting a single room soon though... lol
ps - right now he's sleeping (it's 3pm) and snoring like an electric saw

my roommate's bf goes to another school, but he only has classes 2 times a week and the other 3 school days he's here. he sleeps over too. i'm not going to charge him rent even though he's taking up my space in my shared room, but should i at least charge him for utilities? he sleeps over, uses the internet, etc and practically lives here. i'm not home that much either and i think it's unfair for me to pay his portion of the utilities.

but my roommate is nice to me, except she's really judgemental and mean..about other people.
Her, our friends and i were sitting at brunch, and she starts bursting out laughing, hardly breathing and goes, "OH MY GOD! THAT GIRL HAS THE BIGGEST CLIP IN HER HAIR!!!" really loud. and we were all looking at each other like, 'wtf? that's not even funny..' and she keeps making fun about how "fat/obese/overweight" some of the chubbier girls on our floor are..I'm just soo ticked off! She has to talk bad about everyone! And everything I do is 'weird' or 'crazy'.
and she didn't tell me, but she had been storing alcohol in our fridge for the past 3 weeks!! (we've only been in school for 3.5 weeks), she goes out every night & comes back really loud (no, she's not drunk). ALSO! Everything that I tell her in confidentiality, she has to tell everybody she knows. So every time I see someone, they go "so I heard you liked Colton! (even though I didn't, he was one of my first friends at college, and we work together)" or other things I had told her.
And just yesterday, she kept pushing me to draw a picture of her and her friend from back home for a b-day present for her friend. And I'm like wtf? I don't want to. But she kept pushing me to do it, and watching me like a hawk until I drew it (every 10 minutes or so, she'd be like "What are you doing? " And I'd be like "My homework!") So she was like, "You better draw it!" and leaves to go have fun with our friends, while I was stuck drawing her f*cking picture.
