The best way is through Soulseek.

Note: Someone else might suggest Bugs. Do not use Bugs. It is despised by the Korean underground music scene. One band even wrote a song about how much they hate that site.

Is there some kind of slsk client that supports Unicode?

'cuz I'm about ready to write a song about how much I hate applications that don't support sensible character encoding... tongue.gif

...I mean, I know yer scene just has bands named, like, Suck Stuff and Shorty Cat, so no problem there, but it kinda sucks for the 언니네이발관 fans. laugh.gif

btw, does Korea still not have any legal download sites? Like an iTunes equivalent?

^ in your example searching for "sister barbershop" or similiar should provide you with a few relevant results, if the right people happens to be online that is tongue.gif
The key to finding Korean music when using slsk is having some reliable people with Korean music shares on your userlist. And then you might want to set your computer's language settings to Korean to be able to see what those people really offer...

There's a reason those are the only bands you can name. How often do you hear people talking about Gukdo or Hyul Maeng or Samchung? Even Rux is hard to download through Soulseek. If you can find someone who has one band it's not hard to find more Korean bands.

I highly doubt it. It would hurt their radio-friendliness. Now why would they do that? They probably don't even have the balls to diss a popular website.

That was 13 Steps, not a band to easily mix up with Epik High.

Actually, Epik High /did/ make a track talking about BugsMusic. It's on the second album, track #08. Listen for yourselves. And if Epik High was so worried about censoring what they wanted to sing about, they'd never have gotten this far.

this is my first time hearing about bugs. i went to the site and its seems normal but why do people hate it?

i read from epik high's song where they say:

Tablo:Tukutz씨는 절약정신이 최고예요!!
Mithra:근데 혹시 벌레들의 음악이란 곳은 아시나요?
Tablo:아 그런곳도 있나요?
Mithra:거기선 음악도 공짜로 들을 수 있답니다. 뭐하러 그딴 음악에 귀한 돈을 씁니까?
Tukutz:아! 당신.. 참 개새끼네

er...can someone explain?

Because they steal money from bands by allowing users to listen for free, while making money off the ads and not paying a cent to the music creators.

Mithra's lines are him asking the members if they've heard "insect's music"
He says it's a place where you can hear music for free. "Why should we waste money on something like music"
Tukutz responds by calling him a swear word.

The beginning of the 'talk' was about just randomly spending money excessively on pointless things but not wanting to waste money on music. It just sounds like a dig at people who do so.
Musicians aren't fans of "free" music because they'd have no way of making money.
Considering how popular and widespread "bugs" is, I'm surprised that legal action hasn't shut it down.

I'll never use Bugs. =] I don't like websites that do that anyway. And I agree with shadowkeeper. Why aren't they shut down if that's the case?

But now I feel more guilty than ever for downloading .. But! I DO plan on buying the CDs eventually, which actually, I'm trying to buy some of the CDs I downloaded so I can get rid of the fake ones but does anyone know a good site I can buy them? I don't wanna buy it off some site that steals from the actual musicians since, well, I'm buying to support my favorite bands.

And can I use money order on any site? (Sorry but I need step-by-step instructions .. I can't even order online on a site that's in English .. ><)

i'm not 1000000000% sure about it but yesasia.com has a pretty big collection
go to yesasia.com and look for the search bar [somewhere in the middle-ish of the page] change "all categories" to "music" type in the artist or album you want, look for the album you want, click it [of course ^^;;] and there's going to be something about buying it
