hi eveyrone.... im lookin into eitehr the archos 604 or the creative zen vision w....

the archos definitely looks better with its silver plated shell... as opposed to the all black surfaced creative


but the creative supports way more video formats plus there is the ability to output it onto a tv right out of the box

also the creative has the ability to listen to Fm radio whcih the archos does not....


so all in all... i was wondering for the people who own the creative zen vision w... if they could post up a user review.....

(if u have the archos 604, post a review of that too....)

i've been using the vision W and i love it. my friend had the previous version of the vision (i tink it's juz called the zen vision) and the viewing angle was horrendous. creative has improved on tt a lot - watching from the side, or at other angles instead of just straight on is no problem. helps when you're watching videos with a friend. sound qlty is much better than the ipod (which i used to use) and i'm able to watch most of my videos without conversion. but even if i have to convert videos, the software that comes with the player is a breeze to use.

one of the things i appreciate most abt the vision W is the fact tt i can plug in a compact flash card from a digital camera and save pictures i want from the card onto the player. it's especially useful if ur flash card is full, or if the camera is borrowed and u need to return it (then u don't have to trouble ur friend to send the pics to you). also love the fact tt u can use it on a/c power, with or without the battery in.

as for the surface... i kinda like the zen vision surface. it's actually really silvery-gray and not jet black, and it's got a granite kinda look and feel. the best thing is no fingerprints like the plasticky ipod.

my only prob wif the player is with the voice recorder - you can't set the mic vol, so the player has to be really near whoever is speaking to get a clear recording. but if you're not planning to use it to record audio clips, then it doesn't reali matter.

since this is the first PMP i've owned, i don't know if any of the things i've mentioned are commonly available with other PMPs. but i still hope this helped. ^^
