iono if you could really do this or not but it seems like it. It was just something I saw on Myspace. I thought it was gonna be a joke or something but it seems true. You can delete this if it's illegal or something cause for the comments it says that you can be arrested for showing this video. I dun wanna get arrested lol

Don't worry, it is perfectly legal to know these rights. I suggest you only use this, not to avoid being arrested, but to exercise your rights as citizens. My suggestion is if you want to cooperate and not upset the officer, just let them search. If I was in a hurry, however, I'd turn down a search.

Law enforcement has to have probable cause in order to search your car. If they just think you might have drugs and search your car against your will, even if they do find drugs the case will be thrown out.

So unless my car is really loud they cannot look under the hood? Or is it if a have a modified exhaust they automatically have probable cause?

idk about that. ive been wondering that myself. since some some exhausts are legal, i dont know if having a legal exhaust is probable cause or not

I don't know if anybody's seen the California Police Street Racing training video (was on youtube but removed) but any visual modifications such as aftermarket exhaust, lowered car, and even "racing" decals of aftermarket companies give officers "probable cause" (a gray area in itself) to search your car or pop your hood open. I don't remember the details of it all (it's been awhile and the video has been removed a couple months ago) but that was the case. The video gave officers a way to get around every major excuse "street racers" use and ticket them for every illegal modification they see. Like I said, I don't remember the tactics they use to counteract the "I don't consent to a search" argument, but I know they said something that gives them the right to search or pop open the hood. It may be something to the extent that if u refuse to consent, they will just impound the car and some other things that I can't remember right now.

Yeah i figured it would be something like that. Oh well I don't get bothered much by cops but I just was looking for at least a small loop hole to find so I wouldn't get the infamous hood pop.

I can't wait to get a daily driver.... lol
