Many of you said beating (like a smack or two for decipline matters) is common. Really? I don't believe it is as common anymore, it may be 20 years back but recent years I seriously don't think so. Well, i haven't lived in Korea ever in my life so I cant say much, but in China, definitely not common. I mean sure asian countries are strict, so was England back in the days with its private schools...but yeah...people are less physical these days, in schools anyways -,-;
Personal views: I don't believe every single one of them are rumours. Yeah, some would be exaggerated and all but...*shrugs* Even rumours don't come out of no where.
Well obviously to become a star and all that.. but I heard the company is really mean.
They beat their celeberities.. e.g 2004, DBSK, changmin refused something that is directed by the head person, also changmin was then forced to work even when he had a fever until he eventually fainted after a performance... and apparently, they hit Yunho nd Jaejoong a lot. Changmin had fall on his knees to beg them to stop hitting his hyungs.
and all the groups eventually seperates..like they all start out really good, like a big BANG, buh den dey all seperate because sth to do with the company? like they made them or sth... e.g H.O.T
and apparently dey beat Andy up that for a period of time, he had to wear a mask, and the company said it was coz he slipped in the shower nd had 8 stitches... the company forced Andy out of the group to the u.s (their excuse was he was to study their. dunno if it is true or false) buh then the group somehow got him back, he consumed 60 sleeping pills?
and BoA is the longest lasting star under S.M ..dats coz she does everything the company tells her to do.
It is financially strict on the stars?
I know it's pretty vague, coz i can't be bothered searching up the orginial article... >w<"
It's probably old stuff, they might have changed already but i dunno, just wondering

and i'm pretty sure everyone who's joining is joining cause they want to knowing sm's background and all.

& I've always wondered if what I heard was true.
So, I guess my question is, do they beat the stars? Yes or no?

Also because SM accepts and train ppl in many different areas: modelling, singing, acting, radio & program hosting and dancing

I don't care how great my chances are for being successful, there are other ways to
make people more determined, no need to get physical.
I'd rather join YG
and I heard the guy in charge of SM is a big poop head.

There are a lot of insane rumors about SM and how they abuse their artists. The select few level-headed rumors can be picked from the bunch to be considered as true, as for the rest are obviously too far-fetched to be true.
Everyone wants to be in SM because thier celebrities are always rated the highest (just look at Jang Ri In a week after she officially debuted). SM pushes their 'people' which seems to be the reason why some switch to another label or break apart (unless they wanted to go into another profession such as acting). SM also has an "all-expense paid" for everything it takes to make you become to best. Which includes free education as well.
Forget 5 minute fame, when you can be famous with Dong Bang

So wait, two people have said two totally different things about the whole beating thing.
& I've always wondered if what I heard was true.
So, I guess my question is, do they beat the stars? Yes or no?
the OP made it sound as if these artists are beat to the point where they`re half dead~ THAT is not true. but i`m not going to say that they haven`t been smacked around every now and then :X
(haha but then again, what korean kid has never been smacked by their elders? we have hot tempers and quick hands to match ;P)
so to answer your question... no, they don`t "beat" the stars.

yeah i thought it was a rumor.
anyways, i would join s.m. entertainment because it is a good way of promoting yourself and showing your face in the music industry.
I wouldn't stay, but go for the trainning and see where it will take me from there.

andy went to the states to study...
and in korea, beating is common lol.

and i'm pretty sure everyone who's joining is joining cause they want to knowing sm's background and all.
but not to that extreme..eight stitches? I don't think so =___=
I don't think these people that wants to be in SM knows about this stuff
entertainment business in Korea is pretty sick yo...there was something back ago about couple currently famouse celeb getting their fame through sleeping with their boss dude or something
SM IS pretty strick because all they want is money.
I think they don't treat boa as bad as others since she's also under avex in japan..and they have to keep good reputation with them too.
