how long did it take you guys to REALLY adjust to the school?
and i'm not talking like, lightly.
i've been here for almost 2 months and i'm still eh~
i go home often, maybe that's why.... but i love my home! hehe
but i always feel like crying, actually, i am always crying...but i don't really know why?
i've made friends, and i'm used to the classes now.... i don't know what's up
i guess it's me just really getting used to the school? and feeling comfortable and in place?
and don't tell me to go join clubs or put myself out there, bc i know already. it's hard when you're not this giddy outgoing person. i guess i just miss my comfort zones, my surroundings that i've known for so long
ack. help??

I think by the end of the second trimester of freshman year I felt really comfortable at college and actually looked forward to coming back more than going home.

It took me about... 2 weeks - 1 month. But that's because I had an awesome roommate and awesome dorm friends. We did lots of things together, nearly everyday, watching movies in the common room (they're usually Korean movies or dramas.. haha) and all. Dorm friends are the greatest. Does any one in your classes live in the same rez as you, or even in a nearby rez? Study with them or something.

I called home, or IMed my sister. She's my twin (and goes to a university about 1 hour away from me... 2.5 on bus), and at first, I thought I would be lonely. But we talked nearly everyday via msn. We didn't talk on weekends because I went home and didn't have internet access.. sleep.gif;;

I actually got adjusted fairly fast, probably just a few weeks. I'm not very outgoing either, but when you're in a place where you don't really know anyone, you just gotta suck it up and say hi to that person next to you in class and start up a convo.

I would actually recommend not going home so much. When you have stay at school over the weekends, you tend to find a group of friends who does too and you get fairly close. Everyone I know who goes home often complains of not knowing anyone and never having fun. There's always the phone and the internet if you really need to talk to someone from home.

It's called depression. Apparently you never experienced that kind of crying before.

It took me a longggg time, like.... an entire semester... haha... wow, looking back... yeah, I was pretty miserable. I just decided during winter break that I was gonna go back and MAKE life what I wanted it to be. I wasn't a very social person either, kind of socially anxious, a bit, actually... But yeah... You have to take some risks in life, whether it be a huge one or a small one such as joining a club. I know you don't want that advice, but, maybe you can find one where it doesn't consist of those "giddy outgoing people" but people who are interested in the same interests as you, maybe something relating to your major? That's my 2 cents....

it took me like 3 weeks to get used to it. and dorming really helps because it's so much easier to meet new people and have fun smile.gif

it's been about 3 months sice i started college.
i've never moved before in my life EVER and to be 10 hours away from home is kinda hard.
i'm just super lonely cuz i'm a transfer and i live all alone about 10 miles from campus.

but i'm doing okday. but my mom came and stayed with me for a week and man...
when i dropped her off at the airport...i was bawling for like...an hour straight.

but yeah...keep your head up. i think it just takes a bit longer for some of us.
