So the other day I upgraded my computer by installing additional ram. I'm afraid I might have accidentally touched something else inside the computer (I'm not sure) while in the process because now my monitor does not allow me to set the correct screen resolution 1280x1024. Instead, the highest setting I can set it at is 1024x768 and things look stretched out/ugly etc. I have tried going into VGA mode and changing the refresh rate, but after it worked once I restarted my computer and it went back to low resolution and now I can't even go to VGA mode to edit to refresh rate settings.

Does anyone know what the problem might be and how can I fix this?? Please help me out!! Thanks.

Thats a very odd result to get from upgrading ram. Perhaps it cause the bios to become reset and mess up your settings. Anyways, the easiest thing to try is to reinstall your video drivers. That should allow you to go higher in resolution and give you the video settings back.
