not really. I thought Tom Cruise's role was unnecessary.

Yeah. Tom Cruise was good in it, and I like Ken Watanabe. He was really good in it too.
There was nothing to fear,
and nothing to doubt.

I like the big battle scenes !

Tom Cruise was a big traitor though, he fought against his own side

that would never happen

i liked the movie and all, but i just thought it was unrealistic.

i mean all those samuraiz who have been training all their lives

to be samuraiz die and tom cruise somehow lives.

i liked the movie, but after watching it again i got anoyed at the ending.

hehe did people in aus watch it on tv a while back??

According to my history professor, who by the way hated the movie with the utmost passion, said the movie was an inaccurate depication of the Satsuma Rebellion during the early Meiji years. Apparently, Cruise's character was suppose to be Saigo Takamori who led the rebellion against the Meiji government.

Anyways, I liked it. lol
But most importantly, I loved the OST. Nothing beats Hans Zimmer.

I thought it was weird how Tom Cruise became a Samurai with such little training?

he turned out to be a better fighter than real Samurai

thats the typical Hollywood movie, if they didnt make Tom Cruise the Last Samurai, white people wouldnt like the movie, and it wouldnt make as much money at the box office

it was made for western audiences

I loved it, mainly because of the cinematography though.

I didn't like it at all. I thought the storyline was boring and a lot of the parts were unneccessary.

Yes, I liked it. Ken Watanabe was fantastic in this movie. Tom Cruise was entertaining as well. The battle scenes, costumes, casting, etc..everything was done very nicely in my opinion.

it was an awesome movie with motivating scenes. such as when tom cruise's character kept on trying to beat that japanese guy during a stick match in the rain.

Ditto. I LOVE the soundtrack more than the movie itself.
