Personally, I like HUGE storage and features... then again I just have a tiny Zen micro =P

And: It's a difference of $50 for an extra 26 GB? It's great and all that Apple is donating $10 to Red Cross for the Nano, but seriously, if you want to be charitable, you might as well donate to Red Cross yourself and get the Video. You could always get a skin/case for the Video that's the same red color...
But you know...I don't like Ipods, so if you're going to get a video player, I'd recommend Archos and for mp3 player, Iriver =P

I am a HUGE Apple and iPod fanatic, but I 100% agree with you. The video iPod is nice and all, but the screen is far too small for me to enjoy. Another portable video player (PVP) is always going to be a more solid option than an iPod Video (not saying that the iPod Video is all that bad, but there are better ones out there).
But, the thing is, iPods have this universal characteristic that makes it so popular: it is so simple that even your momma can use it. Yes, that even means the iPod Video, whereas other video players require a thick 100 manual and a hot-line (for those technological impaired people).
For me, as you can obviously guess, the iPod Nano would be the preferred choice.

A small 1.5 inch screen if that is indeed the screen size for the latest iPod Video is not at all pratical for video viewing but to each his own. I would just pick up the red Nano.
i think its 2.5

2. Watching a video on a small screen is a personal reference, try it out at a Apple store near you if there is one or a friend that has one.
3. Red is a limited edition color.
4. Nano is lighter.
5. Your only going to use it for music.
6. You can't use the hard drive as a regular hard drive to store data because the memory you can use it for storage is limited.
7. Do you want to use it to store videos such as Xman, Drama, and whatever else you have?
Basically, just get the Nano until you need more storage, which would probably be like a year from now and by then you would need a new player anyways because most ipods are know to break around that period of time.
If you thinking about doing what I said in #7 then get the video ipod.

My friend got an ipod and she complains about the 3 hour battery life all the time. Atleast the nano lasts a little longer =X.

30GB @ $250 = about $9 per GB
2GB @ $200 = $100 per GB
Can you even imagine buying a hard drive at $100 per GB? It'd cost you thousands.
I'd rather save the money, get more space, and then use the difference to donate to AIDS in Africa myself.
(and on that subject, I just noticed... they are charging $50 more for the red nano than the regular ones... so they're still making a $40 profit!)
If you want nice colors, you can always get iPod skins. My iPod is currently white with green/blue polkadots.
