Whenever I try to record my voice with music playing on my computer, it only records the music, and not my voice...and it's not just the program, either. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks a lot.

I didn't reply in the pinned topic because it isn't about singing or using a fancy recording program...just simple sound recording a wav file. Even when my mic is turned off and I press record when I'm playing a song, the computer records the song, anyway. Is it just the way my computer is internalized to do it, or is there some way I can fix this?

the pinned thread says :post all your recording questions here:. And most people don't even post about "fancy recording programs." There have been plenty of people who have posted questions in that thread with problems like yours, so why can't you?
In your windows sound panel thing on the bottom left, go to options > recording and make sure that the checkbox that's ticked is microphone, not wave out.
What is the program you're using, as well? incorrect routing in some of the "fancier programs" may also cause your problem.

Only now a sporadic visitor.

Yeah, sorry about that. I've been through the thread, and I thought it was only for people who have Adobe Audition, CEP or other programs that needed help with the tutorials, or just general tips on singing. I know how people get all freaked out when a thread is posted twice...too many resources wasted. Anyway, sorry again. Thanks for the advice, though. I hope someone can delete my thread?
