>_< it was running?

Because if it was running it CAN'T be good...

Hard drives spin at like 4,200 -> 10,000 rpm... (laptop - high end desktop ignoring ultra high end at 15,000) The drive head floats over the disk platter so close that a hair would most definitely knock it out of place.

So if it was running and it went flying... the heads probably hit the platters and scratched them up =(

If it wasn't running it would probably be okay. But if it was running its probably physically damaged... and there isn't much you can do about it.... sad.gif

I'm sorry to say.

It's a goner.

However.... if you really want to access your files,
there are ways you can get it fixed... with lots of $_$?

yeah its a goner. I think one of the ball bearing came lose. You can try sticking it in the freezer (in a airtight ziplock bag x 2) for two hours and then see if it work, if it does back up everything important and then get to your nearest electronics store and buy yourself a new one ;D
not on soompi as much as I used to be...

^Yeah, he actually DOES have a point. And he isn't being sarcastic for once. A lot of times freezing it does let you recover some files off the drive.
