Cards just fired Rowan and brining in their QB coach Mike Kruczek as the new OC. Hopefully this will turn the corner for them. GO CARDS!

no dought you are right to. a gifted qb is nothing without a really good reciever. all falcons need is a o line and a star reciever and there set.

I disagree. Brett Farve won the super bowl without an all-pro WR, and Donovan McNabb has the highest winning percentage among active QBs despite having an all-pro WR for just two years of his short career (and let's not forget, in one of those seasons, that WR only played four games). I think a playmaker is a player who makes everyone around them better, and not just a player who is as good as the players he has.

QUOTE
and yes vick is one of the most strongest arm in the nfl. his accuracy has gotten alot better to. think about it who in the nfl can throw a pass over 55 mph. yea his second season in the nfl people were right he didnt have accuarcy but he worked on it and has gotten much much better but the thing is he doesnt have a reciever or even a line to give him time to pass.

It isn't about his athletic abilities. It is about his overall game. Vick is a good QB.. a solid one.. but what makes him different from a Brett Farve, another QB who has a gifted arm, is the fact that Vick is not aggressive enough with him passing. He opts to run than to squeeze in his passes. True, having a good receiver helps a player make those throws more often, and true, having one of the best runners in the game scramble for yards is better than throwing a risky pass, but letting Vick run inhibits Vick to be what he suppose to be.. a quarterback.

QUOTE
also yes i told u matt leinart would be a hell of a QB. everyone said leinart wasnt that great he just played in a good college this and that but even thought i hated usc i gave props to leinart and reggie bush for there play and knew that he should of gone #2 instead of vince young.

#2? #2 what? Young was picked third by the Titans.

How can you be a Cardinals fan in Pennsylvania? You should either be an Eagles fan or a Steelers fan (ew). tongue.gif

False brotha. He had Robert Brooks and Antonio Freeman. Either one of them if not both made the pro bowl during that era. Elway is the true great one without any big name WR's. Of course he later had Rod Smith and Easy Ed McCaffrey in the Superbowl wins, but for what he did early in his career is still amazing taking 3 average teams to the SB.

Denny's press conference:

We played 'em in preseason, who the hell takes the third game in the preseason like b*llsh*t is B*LLSH*T! We played 'em in the third game, everbody played three quarters.

i was confused about that part. what happened in the preseason that made him pissed off like that?

Sorrie for jumping in the convo if this comment doesnt go along with anything but im in love with drew brees. I'm from New Orleans and at first i was so skeptical bout brees. i was thinking can this guy even throw and he changed me im a believer. He's up there with my all time fav qb peyton manning. Brees can lead a team. I'm so glad the Saints are actually winning. We're actually number one in the south division.

I don't think Robert Brooks ever made it to the pro-bowl (at least not mentioned by wikipedia), and Antonio Freeman made it to the pro-bowl once.. but not in either of the years that the Packers made it to the Super Bowl.

So, false in that Farve had to play without an all-pro (or in this side-topic, a pro-bowler) receiver, but true in that he had to win without a pro-bowler. Good receivers, but not great.

yes, brees has given me some proof that the saints can play, but they are heading into the tough part of their schedule
im not saing their bad, but they played two horrible teams in the first 2 weeks, the reopening of the dome had so much excitement and that gave the saints a huge emotional edge, which along with the falcons' mediocre playing (more like saints shutting them down) and they won against atl. they pulled one out against the eagles, but they have to do that for the nxt 7-8 games if they wanna make the preseason. but what can i say, they're 40 percent there..

the point of the qb is to lead the team and to get down the field for drives. how can you expect to fit it in small spaces if you have no faith that ur receivers iwll be able to catch it, but on the other hand, you know that you have a second card to play: your feet. he knows his feet can bail him in most situations and if he feels that his receiver can't make the catch, he'll just opt to run it. you think favre is all that great because he never ran it and was forced to make completions into tight spaces? why bother running if you have average-below average feet to run around in comparison to blazing feet? favre would have known that the chances of his receiver making the tough catch would probably be a higher percetnage attempt then him running around/through defenders with his feet, which is why brett probably chose to throw it, but vick knows that the chances that his receivers will bring it in for 10 yards or more is less of a chance than him gaining some yards or possibly even more with his feet, so he chooses to run it. so what? one thing i have noticed is that vick doesn't make those electrifying plays anymore (70-90 yard total juking/spin moves and making like 7 defenders miss on a run..) but in return, he plays a lot smarter and chooses to throw it more with better accuracy than in the past..

however, i think that playin gsmarter is better for vick..he still gets those 15-20 yards with his attempts and the chances of him getting hurt are less..especially when he has more protection on his runs with his line rather than taking it all on his own down the whole field..

oh yeah. to the saints fan.
sorry but your satnis are going to get pummeled in the dome. no emotional advantage there..only the birds looking for some dirty revenge...only if you guys had a reopening of the superdome every week.then you guys would be totally beastly...and i think a lot of your success also has to do with the stepping up of colston and henderson...and bullocks and whoever your other safety was..they are nasty in the games..too bad bryan scott has to play now...he sucks! w00t.gif surprisingly, horn is not the one whos gettin gall the spotlihgt, for he hasn' done much, but i think its deuce's behind the scenes work in the cover of bush's spotlight as well..he's got several tds haha

i also find it how many new qbs and star receivers don't have much chmesitry so far
t.o-bledsoe
ward-ben (aven't gotten it started yet)
horn-brees
keyshawn-delhomme (not sure..keyshawn has a couple tds..but with steve smith back, you can expect delhomo to force a lot of passes to smith again..im sure itll be a slight less now that he knos he has keyshawn who can catch as well...)
brooks-moss
art shell-jerry porter
vick-lelie (and all of his other receivers..who stink horribly)
plummer-walker (im not sure..you don' treally hear much about the denver passing game, but if he's producing numbers, he should be on highlights/news)
hasselbeck-branch/koren robenson (sp?) (last week was pretty good though..branch connected for 2 tds)

Too lazy to make another sig. Ill get to it..maybe.

Falcons' Lehr suspended for steroid policy violation

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2629991

omg just great. just when u think things cant get worse for the o line in atlanta a starting guard get suspended. wth is just going on in atl these days. just great im going see that vick is going to have a hard time now. might as well call vick to start running every play and hope he doesnt get injuried. ne wayz more news packers reciever koren robinson is suspened for a year for pleading not gulity on dui charges. can some one explain to me y he got suspended if he plead not guilty. kinda lost there. wow and colts just stole a huge deal.

http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/IND/9735749

man a 2nd round draft choice for a DT who is really great at stopping the run. just a huge steal for the colts.

and jim fassel was fired by bill billick. just crazy how the offensive coordinator loses 1 game and he gets fired for it.

http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/BAL/9735082

this league now is all about immediate results and dont think about just building around the team.

i guess he was found guilty and if he just told the truth, he wouldn't have been suspended as long?

"Keels said the reason given for the suspension was the league believed Robinson consumed alcohol on the night he was arrested in Minnesota. Under the terms of the league's substance abuse policy, officials didn't have to wait for Robinson's court case to be resolved to suspend him.

Speaking at a news conference in Green Bay, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Robinson had an appeal hearing with the league by conference call Monday."

i live in philly, grew up in Eastern PA and like the Eagles. 1a. Cards 1b. Eagles

i liked buddy ryan and garrison hearst, so followed them to the desert. but yeah, i'm an old skool eagles fan, randall, keith byars, jerome, reggie, freddy b, mike quick etc.

eagles need donte and westbrook to heal....they'll beat up the Bucs this weekend though.

Lol...does everyone hate the Bears?!

It seems like there is NO credit given to their plays the 4th quarter, but all the blame is just put on the Cards and what they did wrong, not that the Bears are actually any good and deserved the win.

well, i'm a Bears fan, so not everyone here hates them cool.gif but they won a game that they shouldn't have won. yeah, the defense did what it does, but the Bears were beaten up for most of the game, came back, let the Cards drive down the field in the final minutes, and got really lucky at the end. They deserve credit for coming back, but in the end it was a bad game for the Bears (and a worse ending for AZ).

Still, it's hard to complain when they're 6-0. And it's only one game. If Grossman repeats this type of outing vs. SF and Miami, I'll be worried. Right now I just hope people stop talking about 1985 every time the Bears make a run. It's annoying.

Oh, and Mike Brown may be out for the season (again).....seems to happen every year

Lol Cubs fan as well. Chicagoan? Hard to find Bears fans who aren't Chicagoans. tongue.gif

I guess they shouldn't have won in a way, however the took advantage of the Cards who might have in a way let their guard down when they were up by so much. I agree that Grossman needs to get his act together. His performance was very...pathetic.

We [friends and I watching the game] assumed that most/all of them were ones that traveled from Chicago to watch the game. Similar to fans that follow the Cubs around. wink.gif

Raping all these weak teams is making the bears look mighty powerful. Too bad mike brown is hurt. Can't stand him anyway...sure talks a lotta sh$t though.

Grew up in Illinois, but not Chicago. Root for mostly Chicago sports teams though, and I've followed the Falcons a little since I moved to ATL. I'm guessing you're not from IL tongue.gif
