merriman shouldn't be allowed to go cause he was caught using ROIDS.
Unfortunately, the pro-bowl isn't a morality contest. You "earn" (and in this case, I use the word loosely) your way into the pro-bowl by your performance on the field and your popularity amongst the league (whether the NFL wants to admit it or not, but the pro-bowl can be a bit of a popularity contest).
I think Merriman should go. He has performed wonderfully on the field, and he paid his fines and served his suspension. I think Hermit mentioned this in his post. There comes a point and time where you have to forgive and forget because of the way Merriman conducted himself. I'm not saying that if you act like a gentleman, you are forgiven for all the wrongs you've done, but if you cannot let it go now, when can you?

Romo is the worst Pro-Bowl pick in like the past 20 years.
The things Garcia was doing tonight, I had to keep reminding myself that he's friggin 37 years old. Wow. Some of his passes were awesome and it was nice to see a QB throw the football with some touch and accuracy on the short and intermediate throws for a change.
This was a great Christmas present.
Well, first of all, there have been plenty of players who was voted in the pro-bowl and did not have the performance to match the merits, and many of them much worse than good ole Tony Romo.
Second of all, who the heck would you put into the pro bowl if you don't think Tony Romo is deserving of it? Along with Tony Romo, Drew Brees and Marc Bulger are joining Romo to Honolulu (I wish I could join them.. I have a dear friend in Honolulu!). *shameless plug* I think we'd all agree that if Donovan was still healthy, he'd be a lock to Honolulu.
Then the other names that have been left out are Brett Farve, Dinosaur T-Rex Grossman (I've suddenly become the Soompi version of Chris Berman), Eli Manning, and Jake Delhomme. Now, Brett Farve hasn't played a particularly fantastic season, Jake Delhomme has not been playing consistently throughout the season, Eli Manning has stunk as of late, and Rex Grossman would cause a bigger outcry from the fans if he was selected.
Remember, the NFC has been a mediocre conference this season, and part of it is due to mediocre quarterbacks. Tony Romo just happened to win enough hearts and played (statistically speaking) as well as many quarterbacks up until the pro-bowl selection. I hate it as much as any that Tony Romo is in the pro-bowl, and that is not because I'm a die-heart Eagles fan and a die-heart Cowboys/Redskins/Giants hater. However, with the way the other quarterbacks have played this season, you just have to realize that the alternative to the pro-bowl would have probably been Hermit himself.
I think what is amazing about Jeff Garcia's performance as of late is that he plays with high proficiency, and it kind of reminds you of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Now don't call me a homer. I am NOT comparing Garcia to those other two guys, but very seldom do you see a team just run down a defense on EVERY possession like the Eagles' offense has. I remember when Garcia was 10 for 13 at one point of the game, and I remembered every single pass incompletion. It was THAT rare that I could actually remember it. Also, just look at the drives he has been sustaining, and this occurred last week against the Giants as well. He has been driving 60, 70, 80, at one point, 90 yard drives. Garcia is doing it by his inky-dinky passes, and the Eagles were literally jamming it down the Cowboys and Giants throat (does anyone remember me saying that I thought the Eagles did not have a good running game?!).
Hey, as an Eagles fan, I'll be the millionth person to say that I lost faith after the Indy game. Just watching the Eagles' Post Game Live, people literally went down the line and said, "After 5-6, I thought the Eagles had no chance in making the playoffs". Well, how many people now are saying that there isn't a team that can stop us? Well, pretty much everybody in Philadelphia (besides those Philly pessimists).
You guys will have to forgive me with this long post. I've been MIA for awhile (finals.. Eagles losing.. you know, the normal), so this is sort of coming back for me.

On another note, during a press conference after the Eagles-Cowboys game, TO said that he needs to be thrown the ball early and often to be an integral role throughout a game. I'm sorry, but I find that comment ridiculous (again, not because I'm a Cowboys hater). The guy is 6'4", god knows how many lbs, and built so well that he was actually in the front cover of some fitness magazine (I was subscribed to the god-awful magazine). Not only that, but the guy is a professional football player. His living is playing football. How is it possible that he cannot be ready at all times of the game even if he isn't being thrown the ball? (and note, there were two or three notable times where he flat out dropped the ball)
On another side note: he threw the Cowboys' play caller under the bus. First Drew Bledsoe, and now the 'Boys play caller. Yikes, well, he dropped two balls thrown right to him. Must have been Carrie Underwood watching from the boxes. I know that if Carrie Underwood was watching me play, I'd drop my balls too.
