I mean, do you see how ridiculous that excuse is? That's saying that you can be as bad as you want because the other player was far worse than you were. That is the excuse I've been hearing all around town for the past three days, and to be truthfully honest, it is pitiful. I believe you conduct yourself with class and sportsmanship, regardless of who the opponent is and what he or she has done in the past. As soon as you mock them, as some of the Patriots did on the Chargers' hometurf after the Pats beat the Chargers to end their season, you become just as bad as he was. There is absolutely no excuse about it.
Was LT's comments a cheap shot? Perhaps it was due to bitterness, but the coach has to take responsibility of how his players conduct themselves on the field.. fair or not.
As for you calling Rivers' comments immature: HELLO??? Aren't we talking about the Patriots players celebrating excessively? Whose more immature? The comments that Philip Rivers spoke or the way the Patriots acted?
Say what you want about what Mangini was suppose to become. This is the internet.. come on now.
Honestly, I don't understand why Bostonians just won't admit wrong and say that the Pats were wrong in this (too, if you'd like). Here's everybody calling the Chargers crybabies, yet if this were the Yankees doing the same things in Fenway Park, there would be more mayhem than anyone could even imagine.
If the yanks did that at fenway, the fight would be on espn for the next 48hrs. San Diego is sending 9 guys to the pro bowl. Bellichick could very well be the coach if the pats win this Sunday. Another reason to root for them.
