isn't it more like an awesome RB in Gore...and semi-solid WR corps with the likes of oft-injured Jackson, unproven Lelie, and an ok 3rd with Battle?

Please, don't hate on the 49ers. Jackson is going to get injured? He's played 96 games out of 112(he missed 10 games in one season). Anyways, he had 10 TDs in 13 games, far better than any other 49er WR last season. He's in his prime, so he's going to improve. With a solid OL(these players make QBs/RBs great), Alex Smith can only improve. If you insert Brady on a Cardinal/Bucs/Raiders OL, he'd be horrible. Well, have fun with Moss. I think Stallworth is going to have a better season than Moss. I'd have to admit that your Patriots had a great offseason(2nd to the 49ers, of course).
Yes, my mistake. But don't forget about VD, that guy is a beast. Our WR significantly improved within these past 2 days(DJax and Hill). We went 7-9 with an awful defense(MOST POINTS ALLOWED!) and WR corps. With our ownage defense and newly acquired WRs, we're definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with in future seasons.

we'll see about that on the first monday night game of the season. my cards vs. your 9'ers. boldin+fitz against clements and company...should be interesting, but not worried. best WR duo in the NFL. and the new O-line will surely help leinart and edge this season. oh yeah...cards had the best NFC West conference record last year....so i think they can do it again and win the West.

I just hope our new and improved secondary won't get burned by Fitz, Boldin and Johnson as bad as last year.

lol smith drafted in 5th round, hard 2 believe tat a heisman came close to being undrafted.
I was pretty bumbed that D-Jack was traded just for a 4th rounder ...
But it shows how much the Seahawks wanted to part from him ...
And plus ... I think Branch has become the Seahawks #1 now ....
Lets just hope the Hawks can turn it around this year ...
Also, I really don't know what will happen with Smith ... He's either going to be a total hit or a total miss ...
One main reason he went in the 5th is because of his short height for a pocket QB

Jamaal Anderson DE , Justin Blalock OG, Chris Houston CB
we picked up two projected first rounders in the second round!
Anderson replaces Kerney at defensive end, Blalock upgrades a mediocre offensive line to protect Vick, and Houston gives D-Hall some help besides the useless Jason Webster...
Now that we picked up a solid corner (who played in the toughest division in college football with Arkansas), the falcons can move jimmy williams to free safety and have houston start at the other corner.
I'm not so bummed about not getting landry anymore lol

haha yea i agree with u. i was soo shocked also because anderson and blalock was all first rounders by sports writers but they ended going second round. i hope vick can actually stay in the pocket because he proved to me that he can stay in the pocket and throw if he has time.

if Sidney Rice opted to return for his senior year, he would had been a top 10 pick next year.
Marcus McCauley was ranked in the top 3 cornerback in 06-07, def a 1st round grade talent.
Andrae Allison was considered a top 10 wide receiver.
other notable players-rufus alexander and brian robison
Vikings got alot of steals and 4-5 potential future starter outta of this draft. watch out for the vikes in 2-3 years.
Panthers, Falcons, Vikings, Colts did good on this years draft.

wut the???

It was a really deep draft for WRs--the strongest in years. WR while a glamour position is also probably the most overrated position in football. You don't need superstars..you just need a solid collection of 3-4 WRs.
Jerry Porter is a fine WR.
Also to the person that said Sidney Rice would have been a top 10 pick next year...no way. To get picked in the top 10 you have to be able to run at least a 4.4 40 not a ~4.6 like Rice ran at the Combine. He's also a Spurrier WR which means that he'll go lower than his production indicates.

LOL a falcons fan?!
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah haha
yeah as an atl fan, i wanted landry because chris crocker simply wouldnt do..but washington made a huge mistake by taking landry? ok so they have two elite safeties..what about their weak linebacking corp and dline that got literally NO pressure on opposing qbs? and then they go and take two lbs in the fourth and fifth rounds..what a genius front office.
and exactly like you said, houston can fill in next to d-hall..but the thing that kind of worries me is that houston has no zone experience whatsoever, although i think that petrino said he was implementing a man to man scheme..and i think that we keep jason webster just because of the fact that we have no depth in the secondary. we signed that guy from houston, but judgement is still out on him until we start the season to see if he's a capable nickleback..and jason webster actually did ok in coverage, other than the fact that he still got burned by wrs too often..so i think he'd be a real good nickleback.
we also got david irons in the 5th, which i think is a steal...he could develop into our nickleback or fourth cb in certain situations..and i pray that anderson wasn't a one year wonder. wish we could've gotten mason crosby though..but then again, since demo is injured we needed another starting lb to fill his spot for a while. same w/ rod coleman.
however, carolina and the saints did pretty well too..so i guess itll be up to vick to step up this year. or else he's out and i bet we make a move for brian brohm.

i think this is getting blown out of proportion...not to say that vick's image hasn't been tarnished to me..im sure that everyone knows that vick isn' tthe most innocent guy out there.
but still, the things that point to him being a dog fighter are yet to be proven..although even when i see them, it seems to lead to michael vick fighting dogs..
i think that if vick is found guilty of fighting dogs, ithink the falcons should drop him like a hot potato..70+ mil cap hit or whatever..find a way or send him to some desperate team that's iwlling to give him a second chance because dog fighting is so disgusting there's no way to justify it even a little bit. i see those videos they play and i feel like throwing up food in my mouth because i feel so bad for the dogs that are suffering, being hurt so bad, and even being killed.
i am in full support or punishing vick harshly or even going as far as to take away everything he has, because although there may be worse offenses, dog fighting is so damn cruel and inhumane..but how about we wait for the reality to appear?
