That's exactly my thought
out of the three possoble teams he went to the wost one
he should had taken the 20 mil and remain retired as a Packer legend

25 million actually.

He's also in a Packers uniform in the 2009 Madden and they're not changing it. They're gonna have a free downloadable cover of him in a Jets uniform for people who want it. lol

I guess the Jets realize the QB's they have were bums. Chad Pennington isn't too bad of a QB. Another team will probably be interested in his services.

I just hope that if he plays he plays really good, because if he didnt why did he come back for, his "last" year was a really good one, and all of a sudden he comes back, question why did he want to come back was it a change in heart and he wanted to play again or something?

i think the packers kind of made him feel like he was done when he actually wanted to play more. and then it hit him kind of late that he still wanted to play or something. or maybe he did think he was done and the news that the vikings tampered with him was true and evidence was just hard to obtain? [shrugs] its pretty much speculative at this point. maybe when he finally decides to retire for good he'll write a book and we'll find out! the guy can never stay out of the limelight so i wouldn't be surprised if he does.

I have kinda lost some respect for him because during his retirement speech and everything it felt that he was really sincere with his feeling of done with playing football, but then all of a sudden he wants to comeback and play again. I know that it is his right to do whatever he wants, but if he was gonna come back he might as well not put up that show to begin with.

Also if he would have taken that 25mil i would have lost even more respect for him because he is taking money that he does not deserve, I guess the packers wanted him to retire to be the greenbay packers legend, he still is but its like not his last team anymore and he is not gonna retire underthem which really sucks.

Maybe he came back with something still to prove

He wanted to prove that the Madden curse is just myth.

Me too. He sort of implied the same thing the previous season before that. In the final game of the 2006 season against the bears I thought he was leaving the game. But then he came back for the 2007 season. Then after the season he did it again. When he said he would retire I was hoping it would be for good. Next time Favre says he will retire he will have to show me something that won't make me doubt him.

A career-ending injury brought to you by the Madden Curse. XD

He's been sacked by Strahan so many times that his head isn't in the right place.

Yeah the people on that network make out Favre to be someone who as if he can do no wrong. I don't like that.

About Frank Caliendo, he is funny. He is good at imitating people.

Chad Johnson is reportedly taking steps to legally change his last name to Ocho Cinco.
So ridiculous it's inspired or a desperate plea for attention? We're leaning towards the former if this move results in the NFL being forced to allow OCHO CINCO jerseys to be sold. Johnson's act has long worn thin for many, including his coaches, but we admire the persistence.

It wouldn't surprise me if Lynch - if he's still planning on playing and not retiring, heading for the broadcast booth, etc - actually ends up in either New England or Indianapolis. The Patriots have that penchant for picking up veteran players of his caliber (read: Seau) and getting the best out of them- and they need the secondary help because that area's arguably a weakness with all the personnel losses. As for Indianapolis, Lynch is tight with Tony Dungy from their Tampa Bay days - so if there's a place for him there, I would think getting Lynch could be a consideration.

Pats, Lynch agree to 1 year deal

Haha, I got one right. cool.gif

But wow, New England sure likes to get as much mileage out of these guys past their prime, don't they? At least for only 1.5 million, it's a relatively cheap risk.

Although the Patriots defense is up there in age they do have experienced and smart veterans. Lynch will fit in with New England.

I had a talk with this person about Brett Favre and the Packers and he claimed I (as well as many Packer's fans) were bandwagon fans because of Favre. Now I don't doubt that there are fans who became Packers fans cuz of Favre, but as biased as this may sound, I don't believe there is any other team's fan base that is more dedicated than the Packers. Sellout for every home game since the 60's as well as sellout practices and scimmages. Most League Championships in NFL History(they won a lot before the Super Bowl era). I'm not going to say there are 0 bandwagon Packer's fans, but that streak of sellouts as well as one of the longest waiting list for tickets for any team as well as Packers Tradition even before Favre came tells me its more than that. We're also the only pro sports team in America(unless there's another team that I don't know of) that are owned by the fans. Sure you still have a President running the team but what other team sells stocks to fans for ownership?

One thing I will say about some Packers fans is their blind love for Brett Favre. Yes he was a damn good quarterback who brought us back to respectability in the 90's and he's one of the all time greatest qbs in history. But with his constant need to be in the spotlight with his retirement act(for the past 5 seasons or so), seriously I'm glad he's gone from Green Bay. We've been so blinded by how great he has played for us and leading us to 2 Super Bowls and a near 3rd one but really, how can people say Favre had no blame? Yes management made some mistakes but Favre took this way too far. As a Packers fan for the past 23 years(its hard not to be a fan when you're born in Wisconsin. We practically worship the Packers up here) I will gladly root for Aaron Rodgers and wish him the best success leading this team his first year as a starter. Hopefully Favre still plays well enough, I still respect him as a player.

What are your guys thoughts about the whole bandwagon thing with Green Bay? I think Green Bay would be one of the last teams to suddenly attract fans because they start to win.

Nice one Eli. I know they're good at using veterans but I just don't get what they're going to do with Lynch. He can't cover anymore and they have a good SS in Harrison already. They also have Meriweather getting ready to take over. Unless they plan to have Meriweather take over Sander's spot on FS and have Lynch as a backup SS? Or make him a LB, but they don't need another LB.

i highly doubt that, especially since green bay is a small market and not really a high profile team that has attention grabbing glamour..

obviously he's out of gas to be a fulltime starter, but new england is so versatile with their defense that they wanted him to play in just certain packages
Too lazy to make another sig. Ill get to it..maybe.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is they already have guys that can play in any package that Lynch can...so how is he useful.

well h'es certainly got a better resume than meriweather does and is still probably somewhat of a hard hitter
i think they want him to something like the junior seau of the secondary..and the pats are pretty creative, they wouldn't sign him unless they had some sort of practical use for him..if they want leadership and experience, theyve obviously got rodney harrison still there
Too lazy to make another sig. Ill get to it..maybe.
