Apparently a joke that's good enough to win a ring. Anyways, go Panthers. Hopefully we don't get smashed today.

i know its way too early to judge anything
but i think as of the first quarter of the season...my atlanta falcons are proving "Experts" wrong and we will not go 1-15 as so many people expect us to
first regular season pass of matt ryans career...62 yard touchdown pass to michael jenkins who finally seems to have his hands back?
and michael turner 66 yard rushing touchdown?
im liking it 8)

I drafted Ryan in a couple of fantasy leagues. I even started him in one, not a great performance against a crappy pass def, but I'll take it!

New England loses Tom Brady, possibly for the season (at the time of this writing, at least: Sources: Brady Out with ACL Tear).
The Chargers and Indianapolis each get upset on their own home turf.
Jacksonville and Cleveland also fall in their respective home openers.
Sure, I guess it's only the first game of the season - but wow, I don't think this was exactly the kind of start that each of these teams expected. It'll be interesting to see how these teams rebound from their poor showings next week. (Or, in the case of the Patriots, how they will adjust without Brady.)

and by your int logic, brett farve should have been benched and forgotten about long ago due to ints, face it, you people cant admit eli manning is a great qb because either you fall into the media bias and use terms like manage the game, or u just have a problem with the ny giants and eli manning.eli wins a ring and gets ABSOLUTELY no credit for doing anything to earn it, stop making excuses for his accomplishments. you talk about peyton as if harrison isnt a HOF target to throw to and reggie wayne isnt a 2 time probowler, how many pro bowl wrs did eli have? how many elite running backs protect him? anybody besides osi get any real respect before they won the superbowl? nope.
you said
"the Giants rotated their runningbacks so they didn't get many carries each so of course they didn't get it. The Patriots also covered Burress well enough to make inconsistent Eli throw errant passes and not get him the ball much."
well thanks for proving my point, he lacked a consistent runner and burress, he got the job done throwing mainly to steve smith in 3rd down situations late in the game, and made kevin boss/tyree darkhorse heros in nyc, i suppose those superstars
ps congrats on the eagles rolling over the rams, and burning an entire defense that should be bagging groceries. haha, but honestly any team that can put up 30+ on any nfl defense is a pretty good offense.

Seriously. My pro football pick em got messed up bad from this. Mostly because of the competition they lost to too, I just didn't see it happening. =[

Does it really matter if a QB and WR have the most TD connections in the league since a certain time that will of course benefit them? Hell Randy Moss and Tom Brady would have easily beaten it this season if it weren't for Pollard diving into Brady's leg. So what if they've gotten the highest number of TD connections since he got Burress? It's the same with Tom Brady and Randy Moss. That statistic doesn't prove how good a QB is.
Wait...just because you put up his stats that he was top 5 in TDs for two seasons and I countered that he sucked so much he got top 5 in INTs in the 3 seasons he was a "full-time starter" and was on pace to get top 5 in 2004 too if he was a "full-time starter", that means I think Favre should have gotten benched a long time ago? And my logic is the one that's wrong? Where did I say Manning deserves to get benched? For who? David Carr? I said Eli Manning sucks, I didn't say he should be benched because I know Carr is even worse. How the hell is this media bias? Manning sucked during the 2007 season AND the Super Bowl. He got one lucky scramble and throw and that makes him a "great" QB? Does that make Billy Volek a great QB too? He got pretty lucky and had plenty of lucky throws when he was on the Titans.
I didn't say I don't give any credit to Manning for the Super Bowl win. I said he SUCKS. I give him credit for his scramble and throws to Tyree and Burress and the completions he DID make during the game. Although his Tyree throw was just a prayer. I also give him credit for the errant throws he made that kept the Giants from actually scoring more and causing them to play catchup in the end. I also give credit to the defense who kept Brady from scoring, which allowed Manning to play catchup in the end because no way was Eli going to score a lot of passing touchdowns or have a high completion rate. The defense lapsed? Are you serious? They prevented Brady and Moss from scoring on 23413424 drives and it's their fault for the late game catchup because of one TD drive? I admit that is breaking under pressure a little, but they did great the whole game. So one drive where they allowed a TD makes it their fault even after many drives where they stopped the New England powerhouse, yet one drive for Manning makes him a great quarterback even though the game had plenty of drives where Manning threw like an idiot and caused the Giants to not score more. Wait, so when I said any "mediocre quarterback" could do as well as Eli on the Giants, I actually meant that any monkey could do as well as Eli on the Giants? Thanks for the translation, otherwise I wouldn't have known what I meant.
How many HOF and Pro Bowl WRs does Eli have? Burress would be going to plenty of Pro Bowls if he had a better quarterback. Do you even watch Giants games? Seriously, do you not wonder who the hell he is throwing to on plenty of his passes? I could show you a clip of the first game of the season where he did something like that and make you ask WTF? I don't get why you're comparing the weapons he has to the weapons other quarterbacks have. A not so elite group of teammates doesn't mean it's the whole reason the quarterback's stats suck. It's the throw that goes straight to a defender when a receiver is open that makes a QB suck.

Winning the Super Bowl doesn't mean you're a good quarterback. Hell, Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl.

i think the eagles will go into texas stadium and punch the cowboys in the mouth. roy williams gets benched by the 3rd quarter after djax burns him for a couple of TDs.

Just wait till they get Bledsoe back. Oh wait, I think Vinny T is on the line!
And if that doesn't work out, the Matt Castle bandwagon is currently under construction.
Looks like Bellicheat needs to dust off those extra camcorders again.

LOL @lions ...getting DESTROYED by a team with a starting rookie QB. stupid lions thought the preseason actually meant they were gonna be good this year.
Patsies are DONE! No matter how much the media wants to lie and give them a chance, they're done and everyone knows it. Moss might as well be crying behind closed doors. Is Seau still on the team? lol he might as well retire now.
Joe Flacco already proved he's the starter for the Crows. Troy Smith might as well be cut already. As well as the other guy who's injured.
Coaches that will be fired/need to be fired this season = Kiffen, Marinelli, the rams coach, Marvin Lewis

Flacco sucked at throwing. No interceptions but he still sucked. Why would Troy Smith be cut? They'd cut Boller before him.
The Ram's coach is Scott Linehan. Kiffin shouldn't be fired if we don't even know how well he can do as headcoach. Al Davis won't let him make any decisions and that's the whole reason every coach that goes to the Raiders ends up being a washout. How can a coach make a team better if he can't tell the GM and owner what type of players he needs.

Finally. I think with the writing on the wall (he went to 4 doctors), he should have submitted to the surgery last month and just rehab and be ready for 2009. I guess seeing what happened to Brady and Burleson, he was only playing with fire and only stalling the inevitable. Jyles Tucker is the immediate replacement for him (he played in his place when Merriman had to serve out his steroid suspension) and he's not too bad. In local media, it's speculated around here that to take Merriman's roster spot, the Chargers might consider bringing in ex-Patriot Roosevelt Colvin, who was just recently released by the Texans.

I'm surprised he didn't drop the ball. That was like a 20+ yard gain too.
