북찌빠 is the name of the game, and each one stands for the item thing.
북(book) is rock..although i thought it was mook.
찌(jjii) is scissors.
빠(bba) is paper.
what you basically do is say "mook/book, jji, bba" and then at "bba," you hold out both hands with either of the three items. same with the other person. then, you say something (i forget what it is..sorry), and take out one of your hands, so you're left with the remaining one. same with your opponent/person you're playing with. Whoever has the winning thing (like rock beats scissors, you know) wins. if you and your partner have the same object, then you say "mook/book, jji, bba" again and change and/or keep your object the same, and so on an so on, until someone eventually wins. and then there's some punishment, which for my family, was to get slapped.
but i'm not sure if this is how you really play the game, because like i said. my family kind of changed it.

there are some variations to the game..
the one I always played goes like this.
(1v1)
each person starts with a regular RockPaper(Gun shape)Scissors game.
the current winner (rock beats scissors/ paper beats rock/ etc) has to say their next hand and change their hand to the corresponding one.(Usually done by shouting.. since its a fun game =P)
The point was to get your opponent to make the same hand as you (Rock and Rock, Paper and Paper, Scissor and Scissor). and then they win. HOWEVER, if you guys both switch and the current LOSER has a winning hand, it's his turn to try and fool player 1.
I'm pretty sure that's how we used to play it. I don't think I've played it for a long time... maybe 6-7 years. lol

I think they say something that sounds like Kai Vai Vo <-- sorry not korean that is my best guess
I think they do the gun thing instead of the scissors (silly me I thought they were just being lazy and didn't want to stick out the other finger
You should check it out funny stuff to see a bunch of famous grown guys playing it.

Regular one is Gawi Bawi Bo (scissors, rock, and paper)
Everything is the same, but for scissors, there are 3 types.
normal scissors, gun-type scissors, and chibi scissors.
Normal ones are normal scissors with index and middle fingers.
Gun ones are thumb and index fingers.
Chibi ones are ring finger and pinky.
Of course you have to say "Gawi Bawi Bo" when you show your pick
The Korean one is Mook Jji Bba.
Mook = rock
Jji = scissors
Bba = paper
After saying "Mook Jji Bba," you show your pick.
You know rock wins scissors, scissors win paper, and paper wins rock, right?
The goal is for the "winner" to match what the "loser" will show in the next turn.
Let's say Person A showed rock and Person B showed scissors.
So Person A predicts Person B is gonna stay as scissors.
Then A says "Jji" (at the same time, he changes his hand to make scissors)
If B doesn't change, he loses.
If he changes his scissors to rock, then he would be the current "winner" for the next round and has to predict what A will show.
If he changes his scissors to paper, then A would be the "winner" again (A's Scissors>B's Paper) and continue the game.
Is my explanation alright?
I don't think I phrased my explanation nicely. ^^;;

1) Thanks -- if you wanna see the clip look for shinwha + xman on youtube. It the eps where they were wearing grey shirts and blue shirts.
2) I guess they were making the gun thing cause now that I think of it the regular scissors does have the thumb sticking out.
3) BTW have you guys watched kids play recently -- sheesh they have all kinds of other motions
dynamte, bomb, one kid even likes to play "god"
Does anyone else find it kinda funny (in a good way) that a rock paper scissors discussion has recieved such extensive replies
I should of asked my "How do people wrap that towel on their head to get those 2 princess leah buns on either side of their head?" question here. I am sure it is so easy but I can't figure it out. Maybe I should Wikipedia it?
