1. The group Battle was formed through the Arirang aired show, 'Let's Cokeplay Battle - Shinhwa!' The show is similar to America's 'American Idol,' except Shinhwa style! Contestants needed to be able to sing/rap as well as dance. The audience and judges were the ones who voted for who they thought deserved to be in the new group.
2. Which Shinhwa member picked which Battle member?

14. Why isn't Kihyun in Battle anymore?
Shin Kihyun, a member chosen by Eric of Shinhwa, decided to leave the group after the 2nd single/China promotions, before the release of the 3rd single Step By Step. He left the group to pursue a career as an actor. (He has played a minor role in the drama starring Yoon Eunhye: "My Fair Lady".)
15. What are those nicknames or mini sentences under the Battle members' names in the profiles section and where did they originate from?
The mini sentences "wide as an ocean," "grabbing the sun," "to become a star," "lighting the light," and "from the sky" were the nicknames that Battle was given or chosen during the Mnet show "M!Pick." It gives viewers a peek of what their personality and ambitions may be.
Ryu - "B.A.DoubleT.L.E's Leader ONE" was the nickname he gave himself when Goodenter released some picture i.d. cards on their official site. Fans also agree with Ryu that it is a perfect nickname for Battle's wonderful leader. He is constantly taking care of the other Battle members and keeping up the group morale. Through hard times and good times, Ryu shows the Battle members and fans that Battle can perform, sing, rap, and MC just as well as any other group or artist.
Lio - "Park Boss (박 보스)" was a nickname that was given from fans that originated from the beginning of the 'Step by Step' promotions because of Lio's "boss-looking" features. "Park" is his last name that was also added to make it more 'boss-like.' His outfit included some of the following few: cornrows, a sharp suit, nice-looking pair of sunglasses, and to add onto that, being well-spoken and a cool, calm and collected aura. Because of these features and his personality, many have added "sexy" in front of his nickname to make it "Sexy Park Boss."
Taehwa - "Battle's 'tallest' (배틀의 '최장신')" was the nickname he gave himself when Goodenter released some picture i.d. cards on their official site. Taehwa, being the shortest of the Battle members, jokes around with his height and hopes to raise the average height of Battle. Although being the shortest, he has a height higher than most average men--it's just that the other Battle members are really tall. Nonetheless, Battle, fans, and Taehwa himself, laugh at the jokes about the heights of the Battle members.
Hwichan - "Battle's 'main dancer' (배틀의 '맨댄서')" was a nickname started among fans and was soon and often used by the Battle members and Hwichan himself. Hwichan really enjoys dancing but is not one of the better dancers in Battle, respectively. Nonetheless, Hwichan is constantly improving himself and has no problem showing <i>his</i> dance skills and overflowing charisma in a good atmosphere.
Chris - "Magnae On Top (막내 온탑)" was the nickname given by Battle and Isak on Isak's Arirang radio show 'Midday Break' because of Chris' height (being the tallest, but youngest, in Battle) and his persevering personality (always trying to cheer up the other members when they're down despite his own worries and feelings). Chris is absolutely the epitome of a "magnae on top" -- always being optimistic and determined while obliviously showing fans his cute, youthful charm.
16. Are the Battle members Korean/Asian?
Yes, all the Battle members are full Korean. (Due to some confusion from many who are a bit new to Battle, this question has been added.)
