what should i fix? how do i revise it?!?



Without the ability to think for oneself, the individuality is gone without a soul or a purpose, but is left with an empty body. However, if one do pertain the ability to think for oneself, he or she is able to take a stand for what he or she believes in. In this excerpt entitled, “Terwilliger Bunts One,” by Annie Dillard, tells about a family’s member whose idea of “fun,” was to play all sorts of mind games that will cause a person to think wrathfully. Annie Dillard use attitude and languages, such as chorological and anecdotes to convey to her readers about how her mother’s criticism and knowledge, taught her to be different and stand up for what she believe is right.


Annie Dillard use chronological with anecdotes placed throughout the story which are used chronologically from the first time her mother encounter the word, “terwilliger bunts one”; to where Annie learn a valuable lesson to have an individual opinion. Annie Dillard knew for a fact that if something was to happen, like what had happen in 1945, when Hitler round up all the Jews and executed them, Annie would take a stand and speak up. She would have done something because her mom taught her to have an individual opinion, to think for her own self, to stand up for what she believe is right. Annie’s mother taught her to have an open mind and not to go by what other says or do, but to form her own set of opinions if a movie was good or not, or do things that she finds interesting. Her mother did not want her to follow others and to be persuade by others into believing what was right or wrong. She wanted her children to be able to take a stand “if the neighborhood or the nation came to madness” because she did not want her children to follow the trend, that other takes. All her mother wants to do for her is simply to keep her awake and light on her feet.
