You know that sound you hear from the g35, 350z, marano exhaust, that crazy sound. I love that sound its sooo unique.
Is there anyway you can get that on an rsx s, like an aftermarket catback or anything like that?
Thanks guys.

yes. maybe if u could fit the vq engine in there somehow as well as their stock exhaust lol
but honestly, their engines sounded unique as well as good when they first came out, but now I think the sound is overrated, imo. Maybe it's due to me seeing and hearing a G35 coupe every 5 minutes that's getting me tired of that sound.
IMO, the best v6 sounding exhaust goes to the VW R32. That sound is pure sex right there

but the sound of the g35 and z32 were engineered by Nissan when they built the cars.
my friend who was studying industrial design met the designer of the z33 and was told that Nissan went through 30-something odd prototypes for exhaust systems before they found the sound they wanted.
so if you are trying to replicate the sound on an RSX....give up right now and get an exhaust and call it a day.

On a wrx, getting aftermarket equal length headers will lose the boxer rumble and it will sound like a honda civic lol

what's funny tho is that if u change the stock catbacks to aftermarket ones, you lose that unique sound.

yes i know that lol
im saying if there are anything that will get close to that.
if you konw they dont have the same number of cylinders why are you asking the question? they exhaust pulse pattern isnt even close. you will not get an rsx to sound anything like a vq

why am i asking? because this is what a forum is for?
no offence, i know you know your car but chill
well that's what i was asking, if there are any aftermarket exhause that will sound like that or close to that because my friend told me that the Greddy EVO II and the powergetter sounds alike but it doesn't, so i guess that's as close as it gets
but yeah u pretty much answered it

Nismo exhaust still has that sound, maybe a bit less though.

i havnt heard it but i would bet it still does have the same sound. the nismo exhaust is also produced my nissan. nissan wants their cars to sound a certain way, so they incorporated it into the nismo exhausts design.

acoustics via piping, cylinder firing, muffler and resonator designs are crucial to any given sound. if you want the exact sound, you will have to research and develop for a very long time.
i've read somewhere that nissan/infiniti tested around 8 exhaust designs for that particular sound (don't quote me on this~). question is, how many exhaust designs are you going to test?
neener neener... can't catch me~!
