Screen Caps And Image Editors

can anyone tell me which free software can provide good quality and efficient screen caps?
mine is quite dull.......
oh any suggestions on a good image editor?
other than photoshop?
help would really be much appreciated

not sure which player you're using to screen cap.
but i use VLC Player and i like it.

GOM Player can get some pretty good screencaps without changing your computer settings and all plus it's free.
As for image editting...there's not very good software out there that's free. The best ones are Photoshop and Jasc and Paint Shop Pro--those cost money. However, you can always find a trial for them. xD

VideoLAN/VLC is a good choice for vid caps. If you want to take screenshots in general try Faststone Capture. Provides many FAST options for taking screenshots
