Haha I live in Chubu, but there isn't a Chubu city. The largest city of the region is Nagoya. A famous dish is tonkatsu, but my favorite is kishimen. It's pretty much unheard of anywhere else by Chubu.

Name: きしめん Kishimen
Type of Dish: Noodles
Main Ingredients: Flat, white noodles, light soy-sauce broth, deep-fried bean curd, green nappa and shavings of dried bonito
Looks: Pretty much like udon but noodles are different and often surved with a curry broth
Price: From http://www.termina.co.jp/search/gourmet/kisimen_yosida.html, my favorite kishimen place - roughly 750 for a bowl on tempura kishimen, my favorite

I hope that helped.

as u said there is tonkatsu, kishimen

hey, would anyone be willing to do a short translation from english to japanese? my english group is producing a canterbury tales video and we thought it would be cute if our analysis was in the form of a japanese game show. there would be about 1/2 page of translating, and i'll try to make the sentences simple.

i actually am a first year japanese student, but my skills are mediocre at best. if you want to be a wonderful person and do this translation job, please pm me and i'll give you more information. arigatou!!!

You'd have more luck just posting it here..That way different people can discuss it and correct each other if there are any mistakes or funny parts

My site shows up on search engines? wacko.gif cool!

ahh..yea..I've been chewed out a few times for not speaking 'respectfully enough', usually to middle aged / older people. It would help if your friend told the people that it's wrong, but most Japanese are too shy to do that, so the problem repeats itself..

(i replied late.. GOMEN NA SAI)

ahh... NARU HODO.. (ahh.. i see..)

is that right.. kekekekek...

they are shy..

could someone translate the following for me? you may simplify or alter the sentences if it makes it easier to translate, but please keep the essential meaning. my kanji skills suck, so please------------

---> KANA only <--- thank you!!

- How does Chaucer use the "seven deadly sins" to characterize the Miller?

- How do the Reeve's Tale and the Miller's Tale relate to each other? What common themes do they share?

- How does Chaucer use imagery to add humor to the tale?

- What in the character descriptions adds to humor in the tale?

- What role does Nicholas play in the story?

- What is Chaucer satirizing in the Miller's Tale?

- Is Nicholas portrayed as a good character?

- John and Alan's purpose is to take revenge on the Miller, but how are they characterized? Are they portrayed as good characters?

- What is Chaucer satirizing in the Reeve's Tale?

Yeah haha Miyazaki Hayao loves that kind of expression, so many metaphors. So that we have to view his film over and over and try to figure out what that means...also the girl, she turned to 90 yr old woman but occasinally turned back to a young girl.. biggrin.gif

Rainy season...yeah. The place where I live is esp terrible. It's almost raining whole month of June...Nooo... tears.gif

wink.gif
