Can anyone tell me what this means:
"nagameseshimani dakishimete"

Thanks in advance.

Do you have the kanji characters of the sentence?
I tried to translate it but it seems that there is something wrong or maybe because I didn't get the meaning tongue.gif

The 'Genki' series of books seem to be the most used and approved textbook used recently, that I am aware of. Although, I liked the 'Youkoso' series myself, it is a bit big and overbearing for someone not taking a class (I used the book in class, so it was good to me). 'Genki' is concise and isn't overloaded with too much information. I don't think anyone would have a problem getting through the 2 books and workbooks if they gave it any effort.

I said earlier that you should check out what books the local college uses. That's because the teachers there constantly scrutinize all the new books and test them in class. There's probably no better rating system than your local college. People like me are a bit out of date you see!

This book here I highly recommend for intermediate+ learners. It's a very good book:

http://www.amazon.com/Dictionary-Basic-japanese...5360&sr=8-1

Although it says "basic," it's really for the intermediate+ level people to enjoy. The counterpart for this book called "A dictionary of intermediate japanese grammar," should be called "misc. grammar" instead. I don't really ever find a use for it, and wouldn't recommend anyone getting it unless they are curious or perfectionists.

and I think you meant to say "motto motto"? It means "more, more"

I'm taking Japanese right now, actually... I'm IN Japanese class RIGHT NOW.... haha
but we don't have an actual teacher, we learn from this teacher that records lessons for us and we have writing, listening and conversation test which we have to call her and talk to her in Japanese...

I've been slacking off alot.... = =|... but I really wanna get back with my learning~~

^ kara can mean "from" and "because"

I am from Japan.
nihon kara desu.

Isogashii kara, eiga ni ikimasen deshita.
Because I was busy, I didn't go to the movie.
