I am taking one subject test on Nov 4 but I want to change it to another subject. College Board says:

QUOTE
Note: If you want to substitute Subject Tests, you should do that at the test center. You may substitute any Subject Tests offered except the Language Tests with Listening.

BUT it doesn't say if this is free. The fee for a test change is $20.50, if I have to pay that, I might as well fail the one I signed up for and pay $8 for another test.

Does anyone know from personal experience? I really don't want to take a test that I know I will do terribly on. I hope that I could change a subject on the testing day, and it's not a language test.

Thanks for your help!

For subject test, i believe that you can change it without any fee's.

If i remember correctly, you can just do they sections you want to when the book is handed to you even if you signed up for different tests.

I was told that on the test day, you can go, and if you all of a sudden decide you're not ready for this certain subject you signed up for, you can tell the person who's in charge in your room, and they'll give you the other subject you want to take instead.

There's no fee for changing. :]

Funny... I just called CollegeBoard about this five minutes ago.

By now, you can't change anything about your SAT registration. However, you can talk with the SAT proctor and he/she should be able to let you switch tests. And yes, the proctor will make a note to the CollegeBoard to bill you for $20.50.

Yes there is a fee, as mentioned above. my friend said she called CollegeBoard and fortunately got a really nice person who let her move her test for free... lucky her.

Yeah, at my school we get a big book of all the subject tests and you can take whichever one. I'm confused now. It doesn't seem like everyone is talking about the same thing?
