but something that has good pictures....



any recommendations?

you can also buy a canon sd700 IS for under $300 if you buy online. IS (image stablization) can really come in handy when you just cant keep steady.

a good low-light camera would be the fuji finepix f30. (and it offers manual controls)

all shapes and sizes and prices..

New models are the best, but you
can buy last years models.. i have a model cybershot from last summer..

Hasselblad, Leica, Newman & Guardia make/made decent cameras that seemed to take good pictures bwhahah.

anyway... Canon > Sony
Though sony is getting better now that they acquired Minolta.

however, if you like to take video shots often, sony will blow most competitors away.

Olympus isn't that bad too. I got mine for like $100+ with 6.0 megapixels and its really really good (just that shutter's a bit slow but who cares)

I had a Sony P10 and my roomate has a T7.
The quality is TERRIBLE. The zoom is not as good, the image under low light is VERY grainy and bad quality, and even the flash gives a ghosty look to it under certain lighting and temperature conditions.
Sony's are WAY too over priced and they seem to be focusing more on style and chic look than the actual quality of the camera.

I have the Canon SD400 and I absolutely love it.
I've tried the 630 and it is amazing, as well as asthetically pleasing.
I would pay a few more dollars to get the 630.
