So ever since Metal Gear Solid released on Playstation 1, up until Snake Eater for PS2 (my brother loves this series and buys all of the games), I haven't really enjoyed the MGS series and I was wondering if I was the only person in the world who doesn't like it. The MGS series is REALLY popular, especially in Japan and it has consistently gotten good ratings from sites like IGN, Gamespot, etc.
I think it's because I don't like the pace of the game and the movement of the character, it's so blah to me, and the action is bland as well. The stealth aspect is ok, but I think it's a little old and bland now. Thoughts? I hope I don't get flamed for this because I know MGS has a big following of fans!

it's not that i don't like it. it's just that i suck at these kinds of games so i've never really taken a big interest in them, although i did play 1 and most of 2 lol. i tried 3 for about 5 minutes before i gave up.

^Yeah, I have a similar reason why I'm not into MGS. I'm just not into that genre. Even though I've played it a few times, I never really got into it. It's a great series, but it's not my cup of tea.

Ehh???
How can you NOT like MGS? Well actually...
If it's because you don't like that genre of games, thats understandable...
Otherwise WTF!?

^ha i agree.
i mean we understand that some people dont like the genre and hideo kojima's way of telling a epic story is different from other games but thats the reason why i love the mgs series. awesome action+epic story=freakin awesome game. id say mgs is like always one of my top games, if not the very top on on my list.
sure does smash on the splinter cell series...sry guys. mgs4 is the main reason of me getting ps3.

It's not that you guys don't Like it... it's just that you guys suck at it hahahaha...Infront of the game cover there is a reason why they call it "espionage"....This is gotta be a joke topic....As for me I love this game is just brilliant.....And one more thing don't even try to compare it with splinter cell cuz in the end Sam fisher won't survive in a Mgs world o yea...believe it...

I agree that it is a good game, very nice visuals, good story telling, graphics are getting better, blah blah, but it really isn't that entertaining to me. I'm good at this game (it's not hard to pick up and play) because I've picked it up and played for hours getting deep into the game, but then after I'm done playing I realize that it isn't THAT great. I personally like RE4 better in terms of action.

mgs4 is the main reason of me getting ps3.
Word
I wasn't too keen on the game play when I first started, but the storyline and charaters are the things that got me hooked onto MGS. Now, I LOVE the game play. It really adds the thrill to the game. Or at least i think so.
