National Honors Societ sounds prestigious, but everyone knows that it's a pointless organization.
There are so many people in it, I don't even know how it's considered "prestigious" anymore. It's just there so that the "smartest" people in the school can be together and boast about it.
Unfortunetly, I'm in it.
I don't know if NHS is regulated and organized the same throughout America. But for us, there is a meeting every 2 weeks (usually on a Monday) which lasts at most, 10 minutes.
However, it takes another 45 minutes for everyone just to sign in.
It offers you some (not a lot) oppertunities to receive volunteer credit, but other than that, the club doesn't do much.
10.4 GPA? Is that even possible?
I thought the cut-off was 3.75....
Well, anyways, if you're a Junior you still have next year to join.

Don't worry, you can always try to get in next year. The thing is that you can't apply for NHS, you have to be eligible and go through and annoying process to get in.

=___=; I got nominated to join NHS but because I lacked in community service I figured I wouldn't get in. PLUS, you have to ASK teachers to rate you and if you get lower than a three or something on one of them, you don't get in NHS. Since I'm not too much of a participator, I didn't even bother.
It'd help you a lot! It'd be plenty helpful. But other things can make up for it. So don't worry!
