I'm thinking of buying a camera and I wanted a good one.

A not-too expensive camera with a SLR feel. So I thought I'd go with a Canon Powershot S3 IS.

Is it a good camera? It's rated pretty well and it's a good price.

However, I might get it near Christmas time, and seeing that Canon release new models every week, should I get it? haha

Or should I wait till the S4 comes out. (If there will be.) IF the S4 comes out, is it going to be any better. It'll most likely have more Megapixels, but the other specs won't be that different right?

s4? i wouldnt expect it out for another half a year. expected changes? probably digic 3 processor, 1600 ISO, larger LCD, perhaps slightly improved autofocus system. i wouldnt see these necessarily as changes to wait for, and at around $300, the s3 should make a great deal.

to get a similar deal with the s4, it would be half a year for release (if the current trend continues) and another few months for the price to go down.

another recommendation i could make would be the sony h5 or the panasonic fx30

i have the s3 is. and i find it works pretty well. i mean first you got to get used to all the different types of features. but i havent had any problems with it. the only downer is i never realized how big and heavy it is. haha.

I haven't experienced the s3 is but I have the film rebel and the a530 and they're wonderful
