As soon as i graduate my senior year, I plan on splurging on myself to buy myself a MACbook. Anyone else going to do the same? I just think its going to make first year easier - organized notes and whatnot.

thats what i did lol but the first few weeks i got it.. i was like.. "omg why did i chose macbook its sooo confusing!!" but after awhile i got use to it and i love it

i would highly recommend getting a laptop, unless you're an art major or something like that... then you don't really need to carry your computer around.

just remember: don't watch music videos, surf facebook, etc while in class

i only like the MAC's appearence......they're so cute =] but other than that i dont lol.

Laptops are useful depending on your major. If you're going to get to draw diagrams for physics or something its worthless unless you have a tablet.

Many other classes its nice to be able to type because I type faster and I can read it better than my hand written chicken scratches.

Most of the time I don't see people at school using their laptops though, guess its my classes and the fact that my school doesn't have much wifi at all. (And when you can get it, they block aim )

if you do get a macbook, don't get the white one because my apartmentmate has it and it's turning black because it's sooo dirty... it's super gross.

Even though I major in an IT area...I didn't find the need to bring one..LOL barely used it. I only use it at home...*shrugs*

haha i think so. my dad says he's going to buy me one before i head off to college. which i think the timing's great because the new windows is going to be out by then.

I haven't decided. It really depends on which university I go to.
Preferrably, if I get into UM, I won't get one since there is easy access to internet and computers since it's all over the place.

But if I end up somewhere else, I'll 'splurge' myself too so I can organize my notes. Although I'd be super paranoid with my laptop!

It's good to have it and makes stuff easier, especially if you are going to live in campus. Just RESIST yourself from searching the net and coming on soompi while in class.
