Ho Mei Tin (Myolie) who is Chinese is the daughter of a hotel mogul from the Philipines. Mei Tin's mother died when she was young, so she lives with her father, Ho Nim Heung (Chun Wong); thus the two have a close relationship, with one thing in common -they are both FAT.
Her father insists that she should have a "pre-planned" marriage since he believes that "fat people cannot find true love". And as a respectable entrepenuer with a wealthy status, he has a list of wealthy men to ask his daughter for marraige so she could live happily ever after...
On the other hand, Mei Tin believes she can find her true love even if she is fat. Her father finds her idea of love is stupid. He asks her to be realistic and that people are shallow -all men want skinny and beautiful women. Mei Tin flees to Hong Kong to prove to her father that she will find her true love and that she doesn't have to rely on her father for everything. And so she makes an attempt to takeover Hong Kong...FIGHTING FIGHTING!
From there, she settles down with her skinny-gold-digger cousin (Selina Li) who is in debt since she is constantly shopping. Her goal? To marry a rich man when she turns 25 and to have him pay out all her debt. She warns Mei Tin that Hong Kong is a gruelsome and realistic city -everything is based on looks. Her cousin agrees with her father, without him, Mei Tin would not be able to find a husband and makes a list of reasons of how being fat can screw over her chance in finding a career and how especially Hong Kong guys have a passion for skinny, pretty girls.
Over the course of her stay in HK, she meets Daniel (Andy Hui), a fashion designer and owner of D-DAY clothing line who especially hates fat people. He thinks that fat people are incompetent and that the only ting that reolves around fat people is just food. He believes that fat people cannot wear pretty clothes and that they are banned from wearing D-Day clothing (obviously, considering he doesn't make any "fat-size). She somehow winds up working for D-Day, and with disgust, Daniel tries to fire the "fei mui" ("fat girl"). Through various failures, she manages to maintain her job at D-Day. Until one day, he goes back to the Philipines to surprise his girlfriend who is on a business trip there to promote D-Day. He loses his memory in a car accident and Mei Tin sees this as an opportunity for a revenge -she makes him fat so he could feel what it is like to be fat....
kinda gave more information.. LOL but i like this series. I find it realistic and new for an Asian series. It made me feel bad.. cuz when i was a kid, i made fun of fat kids.
