Kaplan's Sat 2400 How effective is it?

I'm taking December's SATs, and I desperately want at least a 2300 (I know, ambitious...)
So did anyone out there take the SATs with the help of Kaplan's 2400?
If so, did you do better? Worse? Was it effective? Should I try something else?
If it's not effective, what else would you recommend?
I haven't taken any classes, and I have collegeboard's official SAT guide.
Is there anything else I should have?

lets see
i have Barrons SAT 2400.
barrons sat 2400 is like a guide, as the collegeboard book is more of pratice tests. so a combination of those "2400's" books would be good.
however, im not sure what kaplan is like.
have u done any pratice tests?
how many times have u taken the sat?

I've done some practice tests.
I've only taken it once before, and it was in my sophomore year. I did pretty bad because I didn't study...I got a 1920 T^T
And so that teaches me...that I NEED to study for this thing...

wow first of all a 1920 in ur sophmore year is pretty good.
btw, i am a sophmore myself. two people, who attempted to take the sats in freshman year, got like a 1400-1500 score or somewhere around there.
but yeah, go ahead and study. im surprised that u got a 1920 in that year. do you know how u got a 1920?

I tried the KAPLAN practice test (like those mock SATs where you have all the conditions of a real SAT) freshman year, and I got a 1830. I think that's why I was really disappointed at my score last year.
I got a 1920...by procrastinating and not studying at all.
Hence why I'm so ashamed of it
